Accepted...BUT...

I'm worried about the value of my deal...I initially proposed 9 for 20 $, but they want me to do 19 for $ 50....but nothing in my shop is over 30 dollars? Ostensibly, people can get like four rings at once! I've read ALL of the Heartsy threads, so I know the ins and outs of the haggling process, but it seems so...arbitrary...

I don't have many duplicates of each item and I hear that they keep switching number of deals left and hours left...I'm very nervous.

Does that deal make sense for my shop??

I know lots of people would love the heartsy deal and have been rejected, and I'm not trying to rub this acceptance in anyone's face !! =))

Personally, I'd counter with $12 for $30 if you want to keep the same-ish percentage. It seems they tend to want the total voucher value to equal at least 2 items + shipping, and at $20, it won't cover one of your cooler necklaces.

Does Heartsy always pressure sellers like that?

I'm considering joining but I'd really only be able to do a $9 for $20. If they try to make me increase the % off I couldn't really afford to.

I know many sellers have basically gave them the terms they felt comfortable with and they said fine. You do need to do what is best for your shop.
I rather offer less number of vouchers (deals) but at a higher price per voucher. that way you are saving on volume shipping and also you will have fewer orders but a larger total per order... does that make sense?

Re: Accepted...BUT...

I think 9 for 20 is the best (versus $14 for 30 or more) because while some of my items (like my ipad cases) are $95, many of the other items are in the $15-20 range.

Most of my items are pretty cheap to ship & I've built in the shipping price into my pricing formula for 9 for 20.

I'll actually make more profit with that voucher than the others.... I'd rather someone spend $16 for a $24 business card case with shipping, and use their whole voucher, than spend $14 for the same case with shipping. (that's what they'd spend with a $14 for 30 voucher, plus they'd still have $3 left over).

I'm pretty sure the lower vouchers actually amount to more profit than the higher ones. At least for my shop.

Re: Accepted...BUT...

I would agree....it would for me personally. I say stick to your guns, or go to the $14 deal. I have noticed so many shops on heartsy have very little inventory, like a page or two....I am surprised by this because of all of the potential traffic - thinking they would be wiped out very quickly. Hope it works out. One other seller said that she laid-out her strategy with Heartsy and they then accepted here deal, might want to give that a go. Good luck!

Re: Accepted...BUT...

I have about 55-60 items listed, but since soap is made in batches of 4-10 lbs, I usually list 1-3 bars in each scent and renew as things sell (I also offer a case discount ending this month) so if i've 7 soaps in a scent left and listed all 7, and then someone picked that scent in a case order i'd be disapointing someone. So I list 3 and relist as needed (note this is my f/t job so i'm able to relist within 5 mins).

Re: Accepted...BUT...

They initially proposed $19 for $50 at my shop too. There was no way that would work for us. We went back and forth a bit and I proposed $6 for $13, we went back and forth some more, and eventually they agreed to do it as a sort of "experiment". Overall, I would say that they listened to my reasoning and were willing to work with me and run the deal I was comfortable with.
