Getting Customers to fill out the Feedback

If you are all like me, you feel more confident purchasing things from Sellers on Etsy that have positive feedback. Have any of you figured out a way to get your customers to fill out the feedback? I've only had 1 fill it out.

I'm interested in some ideas too. I have the same issue. I don't want to seem tacky by suggesting it to my buyers, but I also don't know if people really understand how valuable feedback can be for sellers. Especially those of us who are still starting out on Etsy and can use all the feedback we can get!

By the way, I love your shop! Your angels are beautiful and I love the hairbow holders--too cute!

I usually include a note that thanks them for their purchase & then adds a "P.S. I love feedback! :-)" I think that it kind of puts a lighthearted spin on it, while suggesting that I really do want them to do it. It's worked some - I have 6 feedback for 17 sales, but some of those were repeat customers.

I started out putting this on my tags: 'when you are pleased with your purchase, please take a minute and leave positive feedback'
It worked really well and I had over 60% leave me feedback. The last few months I changed my tags and left that off, wouldn't you know it? My feedback responses have decreased!! ARG!! So, I think it's totally worth it to include something about feedback! :O)

I just tried that with an item I sold yesterday. I'm hoping it'll work. Thanks for the ideas--I like how you all word your requests in a way that makes it sound friendly and low-pressure but lets them know how much we would appreciate them taking a few seconds.

I've actually followed up on all my sales, asking if they received their item, and if they were pleased to please leave feedback (even including a link), and if they weren't, then to let me know so I could resolve it. About 30% have left feedback...and I'm not sure what else to do, either...

I've only had one sale so far but I've purchased quite a few things on etsy. Personally I only leave feedback if I get a strong positive feeling from the shop and they make me feel special. Examples I have seen include great gift packaging, a personal thank you note to me as well as free gifts (always my favorite). They also are more likely to make me a repeat customer.

A couple of days after the item ships I follow up with an e-mail to see if my customer has received their item(s). After I receive their reply via convo I mention that I will now be leaving feedback. This usually prompts them to return the favor and leave me feedback.
Some customers just do not want to leave feedback and I guess that's ok.

I just wanted to let you know I had some success getting feedback. I sent a convo yesterday to 2 of my customers about a week after I they received the item. One already responded. This is what I sent.
Good afternoon,
Thank you once again for your purchase! I just wanted to make sure you received your order and it was everything you expected. If there is anything further I can do for you, please let me know. I want you to be completely satisfied with your order.

If you don't mind, when you get a free moment please fill out the feedback. It greatly helps my small business.
