I've read the same advice as you and have been told for many years that I'm a good writer (it's genetic) so I finally bit the bullet and started a blog. Started. One entry, plus the bio etc...and I haven't been back to it because i'm too busy trying to do everything else involved in getting a start up shop going and, oh yeah, raise a family. I'm not complaining, but merely pointing out that unless you have the time and inclination to keep at it, it's just going to be one more thing you're "supposed" to be doing...
That said, I'm planning my second blog entry in conjunction with a major project I just completed (the results of which will be in my shop by the end of the week). I'm thinking that documenting special projects and doing a "look inside the studio" kind of piece may be the rasion d'être of my blog...
Best of luck to you!
