Fabric Sew-on Labels

I believe it's past time for me to invest in some fabric labels for my items.

Does anyone have any tips on what types of labels work best/are easiest to sew on, what info is best to put on the label, favorite label maker, etc?

I was looking for sew on labels and ended up getting iron on labels.

I spoke to someone at "It's Mine, USA" and they highly recommended the iron on ones. I have ordered a second bath and love the look as they are on satin. They said that school kids and some sports teams use them and that they do not come off in the wash.
