Etsy Forum Migration - Solutions

With the recent news from the Etsy admin that there is going to be a huge change in the Etsy forum, the Etsy community is at risk of being divided.

How do you feel about this change? What possible solutions are there to hold this community together?

Re: Etsy Forum Migration - Solutions

So the forums are going to migrate to teams, and Etsy will improve the teams ove time.
There needs to be a Team where all Etsy sellers can unite and build a large community.

The Handmaeology Etsy Team is the perfect place for like minded sellers to unite and build a community..

Re: Etsy Forum Migration - Solutions

SAY WHAT? Am I to understand they are getting rid of the public forums? In actuality I don't use them all that much, but it's nice to know if I have a question or a problem, I can go in and search for a topic. Ease of use is a plus and I often find them to be helpful.

Now within teams, there's posts for different discussion threads. Are they sort of eluding to the fact they want each team to run their own "forums" which is what we are doing, but I don't see how that spans all of Etsy and I don't see how it's going to cover everything.

Thank Goodness for HMET, your one stop shop for talking about handmade wherein the discussion forums should be great.

Re: Etsy Forum Migration - Solutions

Tim, I don't necessarily see this migration as a bad thing. I've been on Etsy for almost 4 years now, and I think we all gravitate to the teams and groups that suit us best. I'm on 3 teams and each have their own forums where I post. Migrating those to individual team forums will actually makes it easier to interact with your team mates I feel. I don't hang out in the main forums much anyway, don't have the time. So just popping in to post in the team forums is perfect for me. I hope it works out well for everyone.
