Ideas for organizing?

I want to get organized with my items and was interested in how other people to the paperwork at home.

Do you do it at all?

I was thinking spreadsheet date listed, materials used & cost, listing price sold price sale date maybe start getting ideas on how long it takes to do certain things...stuff like that...

Can't wait to hear what everyone else does!

Re: Ideas for organizing?

I am currently taking a bookkeeping class so that I can keep track of all that.

Re: Ideas for organizing?

I'm a supply hoarder... Some of my supplies come from trades at craft fairs or crafty friends. I do keep a "general cost list" of what good prices are so I don't overpay the next time I order.

It's easier when you have a lot of the same items for sale. I usually guestimate my cost by rounding up a bit...

For instance, I know how much a bow costs me to make by taking the high average of what I pay per yard and adding in the cost of my clips and embelishments...

I do keep spreadsheets of sales since I have so many brick and mortar shops I consign to. I inventory every finished item and give it an item number. That helps me at tax time figuring out where everything went.
