Still Frustrated....

I have consulted my beading daily friends about this and yet Im still frustrated.

I opened up my Etsy shop about 3 weeks ago and I have produced no sales whatsoever. I offer Free shipping and when the guest purchases they recieve a free gift. PLUS I'am offering a 20% off coupon right now as well. In the condos where I live there is a community board where I posted a flyer with my business cards attached, all of them are gone....Im just at my wits end.

Could any of you suggest something?
When you opened your Etsy shop how long was it until you started producing sales?

Thanks,
Angela

Re: Still Frustrated....

Oh, I don't recall when it was that I got my first sale, but I think it was past the three week mark. But, if it makes you feel any better I haven't had a sale in over two months, so...

Keep working on your shop. Do things like improve your pictures (although many are already great) and play with your descriptions, use all your tags. Do some searching on the blog to find some things to improve your shop. Also, you say all these really cool things that you do, but you aren't avertising that aspect of them on your shop very well. I know how nice the breaks in paragraphs in the shop annoucement are, but I can't see most of your promotional things, and I rarely click on those things.

Just keep at it and wait, it will come.

You could use the time to really buckle down & read the Sellers Handbook. See if there is anything in there you can try or that needs to be tightened up in your shop. For instance, some of your listings don't use all 13 tags. Tags are one of the main ways people find your items. :) Also, sales in July and August tend to be slow for everyone. Chin up, and good luck.

Re: Still Frustrated....

It took me about 2 weeks to get my first sale and it was for a Pay It Forward item (listed for just the $0.20 listing fee) and then a couple weeks after that before my first full price sale.

I would suggest a few things:
- if you're not on social media, start - this is where a lot of my traffic comes from, create a facebook page and get a twitter account and use them both
- join multiple teams to get your name out there and post in the discussions
- attend virtual labs to get critiques from the admins and see what others are doing
- work on your photos - this is a huge part of being successful, your photos are the first impression people get of your items - check out other successful jewelry sellers shops to see what works for them

Give it some time, it takes a while to get started, it's the slower part of the year and you're in the largest category, it's easy to get buried under all the other jewelry artists on Etsy. Best of luck to you!!
