Getting more visitors to your store...

I opened my shop a while back but have been extrememly busy with my other business (brick and morter gift shop). Now that the holidays are over I am rededicating myself to my Etsy shop and was just wondering what you all found to be the most effective at getting hit on your site?

I haven't had many sales but when I pay the $7.00 showcase, I get tons of views. Now I just need buyers!

Ive only had one sale and that was back in October though I have been lazy with listing things. I get more views on the more unusual things like the hat in my avi. I allways link back to facebook but dont seem to get much from that, Ive had facebook adds and got nothing....

I've learned that sales during the month of Jan. are HORRIBLE! I get a lot of views though...hopefully they will come back and buy when they get their tax refund in :)

BTW- I really stock up on designs during Jan. That seems to pass the time.

I've found that I get more hits when I have bright well lit photos. The better the photo the more interest it will bring. Make sure the colors pop. Natural lighting is the easiest way to do that. Then just be patient. Keep adding items regularly and you'll be found.

I bought a showcase last month. I would say it wasn't really worth it. I didn't get many more views and I didn't sell anything that week. So far, one sale in January. I'm concentrating on new items hoping that it will pick up by the end of February for spring clothing.

I renew an item every couple of hours to try and stay on the first page...if your items are on page 8 or 9 they won't get as much face time. It costs .20 renewal fee each time, but I really think it is worth the extra $1.00 a day.

I did 2 showcases on Thursday (children & clothing) and had 200 views and one person favorited 2 items. No sales though. KandK- I hate to say I'm glad to hear that January stinks but it makes me feel a little bit better!

Maybe if we all "add shop to favorites" and adding each other to circles we can strum up some interest! Do you hear the guitar strumming yet??!! LOL

I did a showcase as well, and had no sales from it, but a lot of views. I have found that by adding more people to my circle that it has helped to increase traffic and generate interest. So I agree with KaK, let's add each other to our circles.

I am slowly improving my pictures and since doing that I have been getting a lot more views and being featured in treasuries. My hearts have doubled in the past month, but still very few sales. I am happy with the improvement though and at least we're moving in the right direction!

I have JUST started relisting heavily between the hours of 10-3 EST. I have gotten a sale nearly every day since then.
I would say relisting is definitely key.

Punky- I've been re-listing as well but it has not increased sales, views, yes, but no sales. I've been doing it around 9-10 AM CST.

I agree with the showcases, they do help. But you really gotta watch what day you are buying. Some days will have more viewers. I can't remember the name becuase it has been a while since I checked it, but it is called google antalitics, and you can do a little research with your shop to see when it gets more views.

Also, I think relisting as often as you can is a fantastic idea. Last year when I decided to start selling patterns in my shop, that is what helped me, I relisted as many as I could. Try it for a month and see if it helps.

And the photos and descriptions are HUGE!

I have a good many visitors. What I am instered in is more buyers. How do you get more buyers. I avce had 2 sales in January.
I have an add coming out in craft cult starting this coming Sunday. It will run for a month so we will see if this helps.
i did it once before for only a week and got a ton of hearts but no sales.
