Do you list your primary category under clothing or children? Any feedback on if this affects how things are searched?

I do a mix but mostly Clothing :)

I was putting them mostly under children, because I rarely do any adult clothes unless they are a special request. I'm not sure which is correct to be honest.

I have done both as well. I think the children gets more hits, but it makes sense to put some under both to draw people into your shop. I figure the more categories I am in, the more likely my shop is to get a hit and maybe they will look around at other items.

It seems like each time I list something I can't remember how I started the category, so some are probably under children's and some under clothing. Like DivineDomestication said... hopefully it brings more people into your shop!

Primary is clothing. Sub: children...I only do this because personally I would go under clothing to find my girls an outfit, I'd look under children for toys... Call me crazy, occassionally I will list one under children first, but I've never noticed a difference in views.

I list both ways and still I don't get many veiws. Can't figure out why. Seems most shops gets lots of views not long after they list. Takes mine forever seems like.

Dancing - your views don't look bad to me. Often the people with lots of views have relisted their item multiple times. Sometimes the same item has sold numerous times as well and has simply been relisted after each sale.

I have always done them under children first. maybe I shoudl do the clothing first and see if it makes a difference

Call me crazy, but I've never done a search on any venue by starting with a category first.

I always just do a keyword search, and then narrow the search if necessary.

Dancing - your number of views isn't as important has having items on the first page of a search.

Make sure to list or relist an item several times a week (especially on weekends.)

That will draw people to your shop, where they can see all of your garments.

Make sure you have the most important terms in your tags and in the first 60 characters of the title. Put less important words later in the title.

That way you'll be more likely to come up in search, and you'll draw customers via Google.
