PNG vs. Vector files. What's best to offer on Etsy?

Hi All,

I'm new here on Etsy and it's the first time I start selling design resources.

I started listing some vector format files(Illustrator editable), but then I realised most clipart Sellers offer PNG files only. As a graphic designer I know the versatility of an editable vector file but maybe I'm missing something here, maybe most Etsy buyers don't use software as Illustrator or don't even know what a vector file is. Or maybe it's just a price matter, as PNG should be cheaper than AI files.

For you(Sellers and hopefully Buyers), what's your opinion on this? Is it better to offer PNG or Vector? and Why?...

Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks in Advance!

Most buyers don't have the ability to use ai files so I would stick with PNG or you can offer both in separate listings and see which one sells more.

Maybe offer the png files as the instant downloads - but in the listing add a line about the .eps/vector files being available. Then set up one general listing for Vector Files which you can direct them to if there interested. You will have to make sure they know that the files will be emailed to them - not an instant download.
