Welcome

Hi there,

Welcome to your team's own personal forum! This is your place to facilitate constructive communication within the team. It can serve as your team's main discussion hub, or a place where you post announcements every so often. You must follow the http://www.etsy.com/help/article/483#community_forums_chat_vl'>Etsy Forum guidelines when posting in the Teams Forum, and make sure that you are familiar with the http://www.etsy.com/help/article/483#community_teams'>Teams DO's and DON'Ts.

Even though teams are run by volunteer members of the community, all of Etsy's site policies still apply to team members and activities. However, Team Forums are moderated by the team leadership, not by Etsy Admin. Check out our http://www.etsy.com/help/article/340'>Forum Moderation Guide to learn how Team Forums should be governed.

Although you can chose whether a post is public (viewable by anyone logged in to Etsy) or private (visible only to team members), please consider the Team Forums as public spaces and remember to treat one another with respect.

Now it's time to start talking with your team!

Best,

Re: Welcome

Hi all. I love socks. I make them on my Brother knitting machine. I also raise my own wool. I have Jacob and Shetland sheep. They are organicly grown. and a little spoiled. Right now we only have some sheep, 2 dairy calves and a donkey and a mule.
I mostly knit in the winter. Right now I am quilting.

Re: Welcome

Hello fellow sock fanatics! My name is Faline and I may have a sock knitting problem. I also have a sock finishing problem but I'm working on that! Promise!

I really love the versatility of a set of tiny needles and I've just started getting into the magic loop practice! I look forward to sharing and learning with everyone!

Re: Welcome

Hi,

Jacistuff - I would love to have some sheep! How fantastic. I get fleece direct from the farm mainly in Devon. I currenly have some Balwen soaking in my bath as we speak.

falineinc - I know the socks-sock-syndrome problem you mean! I used to use the double pointed needles but recently I have started to use 1 long (80 - 100cm) circular needle. Much easier. I also knit toe-up socks so everthing takes place on just one of the needles.

Re: Welcome

Welcome to everyone! It's been a while since I visited the team. I am still working on the first sock. I had to stop working on it to get ready for my first craft show on Oct. 8th. It would have been nice to have some socks to sale...next time for sure.

Hello,
I'm Jen. I'm new to Etsy and fairly new to knitting socks. After years of knitting I finally convinced myself that they couldn't be that hard to make, and now I love making them. Thank you for having me.

Re: Welcome

Hello

I'm Avai, I have been knitting for about a year mainly hand knitting at the moment but have also purchased a second hand brother knitting machine to make some items. I have sold two pairs of yoga socks in the last half year. I have some more in stock.

Hope you enjoy my pieces and I will have a look at your stores.

Re: Welcome

I just joined this group. I'm an avid sock knitter though I have no socks for sale on Etsy (yet?).

I sometimes knit with dpn's and sometimes with magic loop. I do cuff down and toe ups and also socks with other construction. I have designed a couple of sock patterns too. I have knit more than 90 pairs the last 3 years - and I do have a full time work, a family and a house - and I've knit other things than socks too...

Right now I'm taking part in a sock knitting competition on Ravelry.
It's Sock Madness 6. And the group on Ravelry is "Sock Madness Forever".
Last year (my first time with Sock Madness) I got beaten in the semi final.

Re: Welcome

I'm lucky to have 2 sheep in the field, they belong to landlord but he gives me their fleece every year. I love to dye yarn for socks and am now working on sock blanks that you can knit 2 socks at a time with.

Re: Welcome

Hi. :) Just joined and figured I'd drop a line and say my piece. I adore socks and sock knitting. It's relaxing and they can be very creative. I've been knitting since 2006, but only got brave enough to attempt socks in Nov of 2010. I've been hooked since. I tend to knit a few pair in a row then get sock burn out and work on something else for a while.

Re: Welcome

Hello everyone, I love to knit and crochet but my favorite is to knit socks. Right now I am knitting a lovely pair with Noro silk garden sock yarn. I live in warm, sunny southern California but I still love to knit many things. I taught myself to knit using old knitting books. I also love to use vintage patterns.

Re: Welcome

Hi everyone! I'm new to the team. I started knitting socks earlier this year and I love it! I love how portable they are and how quick they knit up! I'm glad it's getting to be fall again and cooler. Now I can start wearing my stashed supply of hand knit socks! I've also got a couple pairs of socks for sale in my shop. Thanks for having me on the team!

Re: Welcome

Hi everyone! I am new to the team, but I've been a sock junkie for a few years now. I love to knit, and it helps keep me sane. I have several pairs of socks listed here on Etsy, but haven't had much luck selling any yet. I have had some success with other things here, and for that I am so thankful. Anyways, I just wanted to say "hi" and thanks for having a great team.

Re: Welcome

Hi! I'm completely addicted to sock knitting and have been selling my socks on Etsy for nearly 3 years. It's been a lot more successful than I ever imagined and at times I struggle to keep my shop stocked. I also have a Folksy shop (which will be familiar to those of you also in the UK) but don't really have time to keep that stocked as well.
Looking forward to chatting about socks!

Re: Welcome

Hi Adele, I've just sent you an invitation to join a knitting team where there is lots of advice and chat. Sadly there doesn't seem to be anything going on in this team.

Re: Welcome

HELLO EVERYONE, I am fairly new to ETSY but not to knitting and socks. I have been knitting socks for years and graduated to about all patterns I can find, For me it is the working with the material as much as the finished product. I just love making socks. Tried the magic loop and bottom up methods but I keep coming back to standard top down and 4 needles, Am glad to be here and will look forward to any advice that will help my shop,
