Well, as your awesome new Team Leader, I'm supposed to come up with games. So I was thinking about it, and here's a unique one I came up with.
A monthly themed contest on something geeky; like, say, "Save the Princess." So we all either make or compile something on that theme. Maybe Francie crochet's a Mario, and I...do.....something.......like.....I still have to think it through. Maybe I knit Link's hat or whatever, you get my drift. Anything sorta of related to that theme. If we can't make something, we compile an image similar to the theme. For example, if I have no flipping clue how to knit Link's hat (and it happens I don't), I may take a photo of a crown dangling from a tree or something. You get the idea. But those who have made the item or include their own creations are ahead in the game.
Now, if Francie has gone and made this Mario and she thinks she can sell it, she can list it for whatever price she wants. If I'm just entering my stupid picture of the crown on the tree, I'll just put it up for $.20. Following me so far? Then we, the captain and leaders, judge. Unless we're in the contest, in which case obviously that's not fair. The most creative and original submission that best represents the theme (with extra consideration going to actual items) wins!
And what do they win? A $20 gift card (or some amount) to the previous winner's shop. So obviously you can't win and then enter the next month, you have to wait a month and then go. Maybe the winner can be part of the next voting process, I don't know. Since there's no previous winner yet, I'd be happy to donate my own shop as the prize.
So what do we get out of all this? Motivation to try something totally new and different, and the ability to support each other's shops! I know this is complicated....but I think it could be really fun, especially once we get in some more members. Any thoughts?
