Anyone else paying for search ADS?

I just signed up for the search ADs...anyone else done this? And have you found it beneficial?

Thanks,

Re: Anyone else paying for search ADS?

I did it, but didn't find it beneficial at all. My stats stayed pretty much the same as they were before.

But this might not be the case for everyone :) I'm sure it's worth a try and let us know your findings! x

Re: Anyone else paying for search ADS?

I have, although I have it set for the lowest amount. I figured it would help boost the shop a little since we're just new but so far it's not led to any sales. Hopefully once we get more things up it'll help more, as we really only have our old trials up for now. I'm planning on giving it 'till after Christmas and then re-evaluating it. It would be good to hear what others are getting out of them!

Re: Anyone else paying for search ADS?

I did it off an on for a month. I spent about $20 bucks and got no return and less than 10 hits.

From my experience and from what I've heard it's very hard to make a profit from the search ads. But your stuff is way different than mine so it might benefit. Like Kimberly said it's not always the same case. You might do amazing!

I say try it. If you don't see anything after a couple weeks, throw in the towel.

Re: Anyone else paying for search ADS?

I've done it 2 or 3 different times, too, and it only netted me 1 sale.

Re: Anyone else paying for search ADS?

I am in the same boat as AmySueCrafts. I have tried it at $10-$15 a week, three or four times. I don't find that my views increase very much, and I only made one sale from it.
I have also tried renewing 4-5 items per day, at different times of the day, in order to bump some of my listings to the top of pages. This hasn't done much for me either.
Sometimes I feel like the 1 sale per month I make, just pays my Etsy fees.

Re: Anyone else paying for search ADS?

There are plenty of sources for free advertising. I used ads, and got 1 view out of it. I stopped for one simple reason. "Impressions". When I looked at things to buy for myself, I noticed the featured items in the ads space. I did not like them, but continued shopping. Those same items were at the top of every page I looked at... and I felt bad because I knew they were getting tons of "impressions" from me-one person flipping through pages that had no interest in the ads. So it seems like "false impressions" to me. I'm fairly sure that's how it worked, but if not, I stll didn't find much traffic from ads. If you have good keywords, and SEQ and whatnot, you will be found. Free advertising is adressed in other teams. Its work, but you get more real views and interested views vs forced views.

Re: Anyone else paying for search ADS?

I've been using it for a couple weeks since I'm so new and no sales from it yet, but quite a few direct views on items, which I find helpful having such a new shop.

I only spend like $5/week on it, but I might give it up after Christmas because I agree that when I search I don't really pay much attention to the featured items.

Re: Anyone else paying for search ADS?

I tried it for a week and I did see a lot more traffic and favorites. I did not get any sales from it directly though. I did notice that I got a lot more views/favorites when I ran the ad for just a few specific items rather than everything in the shop.

Re: Anyone else paying for search ADS?

I can see that most of you find this ads useless. I agree. I tried that 2 times, and there was no improvement in stats. So, after reading this, I am not going to waste my money anymore.

Re: Anyone else paying for search ADS?

They've never really worked for me, I've tried them twice, barely even got any views.
