I was awaken this morning by a strange noise. I thought a herd of elephants were on my roof. Just turned out to be a cleaning crew that were cleaning the gutters. They were supposed to be here last week but it would not stop raining. Hopefully, they will clean up their mess, the dirt, leaves and more are all over my courtyard.
Off to run some errands, so far a beautiful day with no rain.
It was really hot here on Tuesday, upper 90's but a storm went through and it has been cool ever since. Definitely praying for the people in the path of the storm.
I'm so busy right now, not much time for anything. Both stores were busy and now I'm switching jobs and have to learn a new computer system. Ugh!! Then my 90 year old mother had work done at her home the last 2 weeks and of course she wasn't happy with some of it. I'm also trying to find someone to come and pull her weeds. The person that was going to do it, fired a man and 2 quit so he's behind. It would have been nice if he had communicated this to me. People are just so unreliable anymore. I just do not have time or energy to go and pull her weeds. Her place is big with lots of flower beds and shrubs.
I forgot to mention, I'm trying to figure out what plan to sign up with because I will be going on medicare. This is the 1st time in my life I'm glad I'll be older so my insurance premiums drop. lol
Definitely keeping everyone in the path of the storm in my thoughts and prayers.
Anne, first thing you need to check if you like your doctors do they take medicare original or one of the hmo/ppo plans.
None of my docs take the hmo/ppo plans so I went with original medicare and AARP supplement plan to pick up the 20% that medicare does not pay. I have a up to $20.00 copay. Then you need a part D drug plan. All that is still cheaper than reg ins. premiums.
I went to a place in our area that helps people over 55. We go there a lot to ask questions. When my husband signed up they were able to sign him up with a plan. They told me they can't sign me up for a plan. (what a waste of time) They did sign me up for a drug plan. I took my list of medications along so that's taken care of. I know what type of plan I want but I hate doing it on the phone or online. We had an agent but he retired. Nothing is ever easy. I want a Medigap plan. My husband is telling me it's a supplemental plan, not an advantage plan. I'm not sure if it's the same in every state?
Medigap is the supplement plan, If you go with a advantage plan that is the hmo/ppo plans . At least here not a lot of doctors on are the plan. Not sure how the medigap plan works with the advantage. You do not need a drug plan with the advantage plan , drugs should be included In that coverage.
Yes, I just did some research. I want the supplemental plan. I already signed up for a drug plan. Then I have to go on the Affordable Care Act website to cancel my insurance. I'm sure that should be fun. It's not user friendly. Nothing is ever easy.
You are a very nice daughter, but hopefully you will find someone that can do the yard work for you. The weather was beautiful here also but I was a good girl and stayed in the AC cooled house. I did go for my daily indoor walk though. My doc's put me on a new med and it states to not be out in the sun for very long.
My husband is meeting with a person tomorrow at my mom's and hopefully they can do all her weeds. I'm just frustrated because last year and the year before I had the place looking pretty good but since I work with my daughter part time, I don't have the time. My mom was complaining her porch is so dirty, etc. I think the last time that was cleaned, my husband and I did it. I felt like saying but restrained myself, you need to move.
Anne, my wife and I cut down our two overgrown Rose of Sharon bushes. We had bumblebees following the roses into the lawn bags. Last tie to get it while you can I guess.
My husband goes to my mom's every night right now because new grass seed was planted since they put a new walkway in and took out 2 old patios in the back. He has to water the grass. (where is the rain when you need it) It's just too much to keep running back and forth all the time. It would be different if it was just me and him. I know my mom from 10 years ago would have never thought of having us do all this work. What are you going to do.
Good morning. Sounds like all is well. I have an aunt in Sugarland, TX and they got word last night that they are to evacuate late last night. On facebook she said they had almost 39 inches of rain. She's a nurse so I was surprise she had to evacuate.
Rosey, Texas is absolutely devastated right now. I can't believe the storm looks like it will back track and hit them all a second time. Prayers to everyone in the way.

Tim, last I heard they made it north to fort worth. Moved what they could to the 2nd floor, packed up the dogs, and took their possessions they could not live without with them. The problem is the levees. They fear another Katrina and the levees breaking and that is why the mandatory evacuation was issued. At least they don't have to sit in tornado warnings and watching the water rise. I guess now it is the fear of what they will return to.
I have friends in the Houston area and they are devastated. The Governor ordered them all to evacuate and the mayor told everyone to stay. He thinks the mayor is trying to make the additional devastation a faux pas on Trump. Not a good time to play politics, with people's lives at stake. He said a couple nights back they had armed looters going door to door trying to get in and take from those who evacuated. Sickening
Another beautiful day so far. Light rain this morning but did not last long. Now 79 and breezy.

This year is flying by way to fast. I must get crocheting faster again as Christmas is right around the corner. I have already received orders telling me they are for Christmas.
Wow, Anne. I'm slowly getting my shop ready but Christmas. I'm just ready for fall stuff like pumpkins and witches. I don't want to even think Christmas yet.
