What is the best way to investigate a shipping "exception"?

A package to a buyer in Kentucky is floating around going nowhere and I received a notification from the post office. The notification said "Late - but Will Arrive." The package was shipped on 12/12 and has been bouncing around since then.  It was generated through Printify but they do not answer queries by email and chat is unavailable.  Any thoughts as to how to get this package to the buyer or who to contact? (USPS who I contacted has no further info). Thanks for any help you can give. Carol
