I have no idea. It took me a long time to find the team.  This is so weird.   Not liking it at all so far!!!

lots of sharing of problems (lots of missing avatars) but no word on what's going on or when it'll be fixed.

you'd think they'd have spent those 10 days of no forums to troubleshoot and test this out.

You would have thought that after 10 days, the bugs would have been worked out.  This is so upsetting.   I just don't get it.   I am glad that we found each other again though.  :)

yes, i had to sign in again.   i also noticed a new cookie, community.etsy.com, which was never there before.  i guess they are running the forums as a separate dealio than the shops.

and the reply button doesn't work in firefox.  i can't access my profile to change avatars either.  lots of people are complaining about no avatars in the big thread.

this whole place is totally broken.  what were they doing during those 10 off-line days??

well at least the reply button works in safari.  but i hate safari and i'd rather use firefox, but half the functions don't work in firefox.  grr.

I have to log in each time too.  I agree, this seems to be a different sight then the actual etsy shops.  Weird.  

Sierra, I never realized how pretty cilantro actually is.  :)

i can't even access the forums from the main site (where i can still see my avatar).  and the reply buttons still aren't working in firefox.

no word in the avatar bug thread about a possible solution.  avatars are probably not the highest priority, though.

it wouldn't surprise me of whole swaths of members can't access the forums at all.  

did we really need all those new formatting buttons for our posts?  i'd settle for basic functionality that works in every browser instead of bells and whistles that are little more than window dressing.

i don't understand why the prior forums needed fixing.  have they never heard the phrase, "if it works, don't fix it?"  (if they allowed emoji, i'd insert one shaking it head right here.)

I agree - what the heck were they doing for 10 days? Sierra - You're right - I bet alot of people cant find anything in the forums anymore. And where the heck did our long thread go? And now, we really have to join a team to see anything. 

Anyway, Sierra - me tooo. I didn't know how pretty cilantro is. I really like those sandstone structures!

glad you guys liked the cilantro pic.  the flowers are quite pretty, and butterflies seemed to like them too.

we planted some in our back yard, hoping it would self-seed, but it didn't.  it's just as well, we don't eat that much cilantro, lol.

testing some of the formatting features: bold, underline, strikethrough.

i guess i'm stuck with safari as my browser if i want to post to any threads.  i can read everything in firefox, except a reply window won't open up, so i can't post anything.  but i really don't like using safari.

i've heard that with the rise of iphones, safari has surpassed firefox as the most used browser.  mozilla has their work cut out for them to keep their browser competetive. so many web sites are wonky in firefox.

anyway, more and more people are posting in the bug thread about missing avatars and other inaccessible features.  i hope the coders are working overtime to fix everything properly. i hope they don't create a new problem by fixing an existing issue!

sigh. i clicked on something in the safari controls and now it's acting weird. i had to sign out and sign in again -- hope this works.

this is why i don't like using safari.

I read that they did away with any threads that were just "chatty" threads.  That is why we lost our long thread.  :(

hi peeps.  forums still don't work with firefox, and safari is having some kind of nervous breakdown for me, so i'm resorting to chrome.  hope this works.  (i can see the formatting tools, so that's a good sign: they don't show up in firefox).

i think i've learned the problem with the avatars.  they have to be at least 500 x 500 pixels.  my previous one was only 100 x 100.

so i resized it to 500 and re-uploaded it to my shop profile, but when i tried to save it, i got an error message saying "your changes couldn't be saved."

sigh.

shame on etsy.  this is extremely stupid.

maybe i'll try tomorrow with a completely new avatar.
