MedPink and Mr are getting married here in Michigan. Their original plan was to get married in Iowa, but after getting much blow back from the Mr family, they decided to get married here in Michigan. Notes-Mr MedPink has a HUGE, and I mean HUGE extended family here. Somewhere around 150 to 200 people and they are VERY close. Coming from a huge extended family that is scattered all over the US, I think it is rather unusual that Mr MedPinks family is soooo close geographically - Mr MedPinks parents live down the street from the GrandParents, One Aunt and her family, One Uncle and his family. A couple miles away are 5 to 15 cousins and their families LOL. They all have land - Mr MedPinks parents have 10 acres, the grand father has somewhere between 10 and 20 acres, the cousins don't actually have "farms" but they have between 2 and 20 acres each.
I always wanted to live on a farm.....
This is what my Dad once said to me - It took our family 3 generations to get off the farm and you want to go back??????
dh and i are going back to that trail to see how many more ducks we can see! it was quiet and peaceful there, even though it was only half a mile from an interstate highway.
dh is doing well. no more pain or trouble walking. he still has to be careful about bending his hip too far for another couple of months (risk of dislocation), and he still has to do physical therapy exercises, but otherwise it's back to normal.
i was happy with how that babelfish turned out. sometimes they are disappointing and too close to the original, but that one was the right balance of accidental meaningfulness and quirkiness.
