Print sizes?

Is there a standard size that people expect for Giclee prints?

My illustrations are all various sizes and shades. What I've done in the past is printed them on A3 and A2 paper with a generous, even boarder. So the prints look nice mounted in an A3/A2 frame, but can be trimmed down if need be.

Is this wrong? Or off-putting to buyers? Should I be offering prints in some sort of regular size?

And if so, is it alright to change that if I've already sold a handful at A3/A2 and numbered them out of 50?

Re: Print sizes?

It sounds like you are on the right track. Frame sizes are key. You want to make your prints so they are easily framed.

Re: Print sizes?

OK cool - I've never seen someone post a print at size A3 or A2 so I wasn't sure if that was an awkward size but I'll just continue like that then :)

Thanks!

Re: Print sizes?

For those not well versed with A2/A3 sizes, you may want to include a width/length measure in your listings (for example 16x12 inches)

Re: Print sizes?

So far, I've only printed out a a few 8X10s but my husband has printed 5X7s and 8X10s and both of us will soon be offering ACEOs as well.

I try to think of potential customers + how most of them prefer creations that can fit into standard, off the shelf frames so I can make things easier for them :)
