Item Identification help...

Hi Everyone! On the suggestion of a very helpful team member, I decided that some of you might find a thread like this useful for those pieces you have that my just be giving you a teensy bit of trouble in identifying.

This thread can be useful for you if trying to figure out an item's age, maker/designer, worth, location of manufacture, anything!

We have many knowledgeable and helpful members on here that I'm sure would be willing to give you some advice. Just please keep in mind that sometimes with vintage, half the fun can be researching and finding the truth out on your own. Everything in moderation right? :)

Re: Item Identification help...

Hey Andrew,

The trademark for Gunderful was applied for in 1962 and registered in 1963, and all other references I have found on the seven dwarfs dates them in the 60s. Will see what I can find on the Punch and Judy tomorrow.

Re: Item Identification help...

Hey Andrew,

Can't do much with the Punch and Judy. There's just too many different ones out there, and not enough info on them to narrow it down. Sorry couldn't help there. Anyone else wanna give it a shot?

Will give the new stuff a look tomorrow.

Re: Item Identification help...

Hey again Andrew. You are right on with the dating from what I have found. Sent you a message. There is a lot of this stuff out there. Have to ask, did you gold/silver test all of it? Found that a good bit of the Masonic jewelry is real. Just thought I'd ask.

On another note, I have one can't seem to find anything on. Posted on another team and got a little feedback but nothing solid. I haven't listed this item so all I have is a FB album link. This is a light blue pedestal cake tray. The pics in album each have more info on it. I know it's pretty old because of bubbles in glass, and some of the finishing was hand tooled. Here's the link to album: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.212086338919105.44833.205392839588455&type=3

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help,

Billy

Re: Item Identification help...

Hey Caitie and Jamie,

I don't know too much of anything about vintage clothing, but I asked my family, and the response I got was to try looking up dotted swiss on the pattern. Said they really couldn't help much on the dating.

Hi Catie and Jamie,

As someone who sews, I know the bottom of that dress is not called swiss dot. It looks like nubs of yarn inter-dispersed but I don't know what it is called. I think you are right on with the dating, 1970s for sure.

Love the red wing tip shoes, we used to call them "Spectator Pumps". If they were my size I would buy them in a heartbeat, just super!
