Re: Hello everyone, just joined the team!

Hi Marieta - Welcome to the team!:-)

See below a few Facebook marketing tips, I hope it will help you!

- Feel free to post every day, 1-2 a day is fine, but don't promote your products each time. Promote your products 2-3 times a week.

- You can post whatever is happening with the business, preferably with an image (which doesn't need to be a pro one – it is Facebook…)

Here are some examples:
1. We are working on the line for ___(the next spring/ the next show…).
2. I dreamed tonight on a turquoise pair of earrings and I am going to design them now; will be sharing its image in a week when the earrings are ready.
3. We have received a big order from ____ (big fashion store/ catalog etc.).
4. Here is a pick for what is going to be an amazing ring – see the materials today and the prepared ring tomorrow.
5. We are going to attend the conference in ___
6. The price of the gold just won’t stop…
7. Here is a pick to one of our “Labs” Here it all starts (a photo of the working place and its unique cupboards with their drawers containing all the gem stones).

Such posts shouldn't take you more than 5 min a day, and can have a tremendous effect on your sales! And hey – you might even enjoy it!

- Getting viral content: Creating new images and content every week can be very expensive and time consuming, so I highly recommend you to use viral content from different pages, see this page as an example: http://www.facebook.com/factsoffacts?fref=ts
Choose the image you like (Funny, landscape, geeky, etc.) and post it on your page. Bottom line, it's viral, and it's a great recipe to get your fans engage with your brand.

Keep us updated on your progress:-)
For all the rest of our team members, please share your tips as well.

Re: Hello everyone, just joined the team!

Hi I'm new to the team. My name is Mechelle. I've been on Etsy since June 2011. I have tried hem all and Facebook hands down offers the best overall plan. You can do more with Facebook. Facebook is number one social media platform over twitter, pinterest and all the rest. Facebook offers so much more and people like facebook. On facebook you have pictures and content. On twitter you only have content. People interact more on facebook. All of this is my opinion. I had em all and I trust facebook to gets the word out better. That's why I'm here I want to know what else I can do with facebook. Besides I don't have time to manage all those social media accounts.I need to make product.

Re: Hello everyone, just joined the team!

Hello everyone I also am new to the team and just opened shop in August. Mechelle was interested in what you have posted as I am not one of the people that is really up on social media. I do struggle with it and have added a facebook page but have been very unsure of what to do next. So thought it would be a good idea to become a member of the Facebook team to learn.

Thank You

Re: Hello everyone, just joined the team!

I just joined also...my shop has been reopened this summer. I have been promoting my shop (and others) on Facebook, Twitter and just this weekend opened a wanelo account. I'm frustrated that I've only had one sale (although it was on my bday...that was nice!) so yeah, whatever I can learn hear would be a big help!!

Re: Hello everyone, just joined the team!

Hi! I'm new as well! Maybe by engaging your fb fans by asking questions. Like which color should I make a scarf out of next? Or maybe asking which scarf they like the most, this can help bring traffic to your etsy page. Not sure if that helps since I'm new :/ Also by stating updates about your shop...

Re: Hello everyone, just joined the team!

You are absolutely right!
Asking your fans questions is a great way to engage with them and to learn from them. It gives them the feeling that they are a part of your product!
