How much to bring to a craft show?

Hi all! I am vending at a craft show for the first time soon and was wondering how many items I should bring to be prepared. It is a two day event. I think I have plenty, but wanted some advice from people that have done this before. How much do you guys usually sell? My items will be $3-$10, do you find that the cheapest items sell the most? Anything else you think I should know? It is in Brodheadsville if you guys are familiar with the area, not huge but it's off a busy road so the turnout should be decent. Thanks for any advice!

Re: How much to bring to a craft show?

Hey Alecia,
Sorry for the delay in response.. and the crickets round here.
It completely depends on the area, the show and the expected turn out, as well as the audience. I've never worked a two dayer but if you know what styles sell best I'd stock up on those as well as any seasonal/trend specific items. I've been up in Gilbert before so I can imagine you'll see 209's traffic and maybe even crafters from Stroudsburg if its a bigger annual style show.

It may be beneficial to hash out hypothetical sales per hour and see how much you'd need to replenish stock with. I'd at least bring three full displays worth of product if not more depending on how much your set up fits. The bigger the show and in your regional case, the longer running it is, you'll likely see more people so don't be afraid to over do it with back up stock.

Be confident and proud of your work! Wear comfy shoes, pack snacks, bring water and greet everyone who comes to your booth or table. And don't forget backup ear backings. You'd be surprised how easily those things pop off when you're moving and packing cards.

I wish you luck and don't forget to add the show you're attending to Etsy Local (link on the left side of this page under elsewhere) you never know who uses it to hunt for shows.
