What kind of postal scale?

I'm confused about postal scales. If I want to weigh packages in order to print etsy shipping labels, what type of scale do I need? I don't want it to be complicated-no giant system for me to screw up! I think I just need an accurate weight to plug into etsy in order to purchase labels. Is this correct?
My items usually cost about 3.50 to ship first class domestic with tracking. I might someday have an order of multiple items that require a larger box,but I would guess a scale that goes to 10 lbs.would be more than sufficient. Any wisdom on this would be appreciated!

I bought a regular digital kitchen scale that weighs up to 15lbs. Has worked great for me for years.

I bought a postal scale at staples. Its supposed to be more accurate than a kitchen scale, but if I were to do it over again I would have saved some money and gone with the kitchen scale.

I purchased one of my scales from the Post Office but you can probably get a good one from any of your local shops that sell kitchen ware.

My large scale came from Harbor Freight (it will weigh up to 200 lbs) and I've also got a very small one that will weigh in fractions of grams.

As long as they can weigh what you need it doesn't have to be a postal scale at all.

I bought a postal scale off amazon. it's a weighmax and it's simple. it only has three buttons: off, on/tare, and mode which lets you select either grams or ounces and pounds. if you can place a package on the flat surface and press a button then you've got this one all figured out. I think the one I got can weigh up to 75 pounds and is supposedly accurate to 0.2 ounces . it was less than $30

on kitchen scales my local postal clerk says to pick one with a big enough bed that your package will be mostly on the pad. they had issues with a woman who was weighing her item in a tiny almost pocket sized kitchen scale. she was always an ounce or two off

I ordered a small, inexpensive scale (Weigh Max, also) from Amazon for about $20 after using my bathroom scale for awhile, haha! The first few times I used it I had the post office reweigh the packages to make sure it was weighing accurately, and it was.

Yeah, I got a kitchen scales at bed bath & beyond and used one of their 20% of coupons...

I use a vintage fruit market scale.....its dead on every time with the USPS.

I used a vintage baby weighing doctors scale before the fruit scale.

Gram and penny weight I use a weight watchers scale.

I gonna make the big plunge and buy one. Thanks! I guess my favorite bathroom scale that makes you five lbs. lighter is not a good choice!!

Lol, Joanna. It was better before I figured out it was off. But you still get to take off ten lbs. for earrings,glasses hair,etc.-as you would on any scale of course!!!
