Can anyone make a humming bird feeder? As you know I'm a photographer and there's a humming bird that likes to fly over to the rose bush near my porch. I love to photograph him!
People have been telling me to buy a humming bird feeder, but being an etsy seller for almost a year now (it's my shop's birthday on 27th of this month, yeay!) I prefer to order handmade where possible.
Also, I like to order from this team before ordering anywhere else on etsy :)

So if you have one for sale, please let me know, or if you're able to make one to add to your shop, then let me know about that too.

I've had 142 sales now, I'm hoping to get to 150 by my shops first birthday but I doubt it, I'll push as hard as I can though :D

It has to be plastic or glass cleanable container for the sugar water so not sure you'll find too readily. They get moldy quick due to what they contain and have to be sterilized or can kill them. Also, keep out of full sun when you hang it as they won't drink warm fluid and the sun makes it go bad quicker. Shady spots or under a porch roof. Don't worry they aren't afraid to go right up to a window! We sit and watch them at my Dad's and they are right outside his picture window.

just buy one. Gail is right. We have them within 2 feet of us right now at my window feeder. They are soooooo fun to watch. (and are very aggressive little guys!)

Just buy one, and be sure to change the contents every couple of days especially when it gets warm as otherwise it can actually get toxic for the little birds.

Thanks for thinking of teamies, but yeah, best to buy one. You can get them for less than $10 at Home Depo or Lowes. I have one on my patio - the cat loves it LOL! He thinks he can catch the little guys but they are way too fast for him - and they know it! They'll swoop right in and feed right under his nose.

They're too fast for my lens sometimes too lol, I have some photos on here now of the one that comes to see me often, I must get a feeder :)

I hope your family is having a wonderful time in your new house. Hummers are just what you need to complete your landscaping!

This time of year feeders will probably be on sale. Anyway--think of it as a business deduction. I use a little over 1/2 cup of sugar in 2 cups of water, and have as many customers as we want.

There is a great documentary PBS airs every so often called "Hummingbirds: Magic in the Air." I have really enjoyed it.
