Question on Photos with art prints

I'm not sure how many of you are artists or sell art prints on here but I have a question about my items.

I'm going to participate in the shop critique and am planning on updating all my items with more/better photos, so for now I would love your opinions of my current set up with my items, in particular to my art prints.

I have two pieces I'm selling in multiple sizes and formats, here's an example of both:

and my heart:

For the ads, I just posted the actual jpeg I use for the printers, so the item is seen in it's entirety. But I don't have photos of the actual product, meaning I don't have photos of the print on paper or canvas hanging up on the wall.

Is this a problem from a buyers perspective? Would it be better to photograph the actual finished product and add it to the photos (meaning: have both)?

Thanks for your input.

Re: Question on Photos with art prints

If I were to purchase an art print, I'd like to see a photo of the actual finished product. I think it'd be easier to sell if you had both types of photos. People just like to see more!

Yep! I really like this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/76364960/60x36-large-original-abstract-painting because it shows what I will be really buying. I feel for you about taking better/more photos. I'm trying to do that too because I realized that there's always room for improvement. =)

Re: Question on Photos with art prints

Thanks. With that one in particular, it's an original so I have no choice to show it on the wall (it's right in my living room now), but it's just one photo. I might re-take or take more of my CMYK painting so at least I can show close-up detail and such.
