It activated immediately when I signed up. They have a leave feature in place and I assume it works as quickly. You are testing, so they would like your input after you've used it a little.
I posted it just because the shipping prototype filled up quickly and was closed to new members. It had great features. I thought the same thing might happen with this one, before ETK noticed it in the forums.

I'm liking it so far. some people don't like that the shop icon goes to your dashboard now, but I've always looked at my main page by bookmark, so it's not that big of a difference
I joined in both of my shops. I like some things, some I don't. Like Jane, I have joined all of the prototypes and have not had many problems. I am not sure this one is a big win, but I do like having the shop's favorites so visible.
Thank you for the heads up! LOVE it. The 'view shop' link is just to the top right in the dashboard, so it is one little extra click. The only reason I go to my shop is to check my feedback totals to see if there was a change or to re-arrange my shop when an item sells.
