Camera Tripods

I'm so shaky anymore, all my photos come out blurry, so I'm shopping around for a decent but cheap camera tripod for my point-and-shoot. The only requirements I have are that it collapse down and be able to pivot so that I can take shots of product on the floor. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Re: Camera Tripods

I don't know that there's a lot of difference in what one you get for still photography. I think they all pivot and anything taller than a foot should be collapsible (I like my tall one since I can use it tall or collapsed).

There's only one feature that one of my tripods has that the other doesn't that is worth mentioning, it's that the screw in part is detachable--"Quick Release".

It screws into the camera and it is separate from the tripod. There's a little lever you push and the detachable part snaps onto the tripod--so it's easy-on easy-off the tripod. That way I can leave the tripod at the photo shoot spot while quickly taking the camera off to upload on the computer to see if the pics or good or if I need to start again. :)

The end of this video shows it pretty close up--hard to describe:

Re: Camera Tripods

I got a cheap one at target. I've only used it on one item so far but I like it much more than the expensive one I got at best buy a year or so ago. It's got telescoping legs so I can do wide shots as well as stable the camera when I get really close up...

Re: Camera Tripods

We just got a great one from Wally World that works a lot better than our old one.

Re: Camera Tripods

Are they quite pricey out there, I was going to leave mine here for my sister but if they're too much I might just pack it?

Re: Camera Tripods

I got mine at Target for less than $30 I think. It does everything you need it to and has a nice little travel bag. I'd be totally lost without it.

It's 36" at full height, I believe.

Mine was £50 from Tottenham Ct Road, London, sounds like they're much cheaper there
