getting found on google

What do you guys think?
This seems weird to me & not too great.
I've been working really hard on my tag words.
I was very exited when a had a bracelet show up on a google search -
But when I clicked on it I was NOT taken to my shop -
I was taken to an Etsy page that had cuffs from everyone on it & mine wasn't even at the top of the page.
I would love to hear your comments & ideas....

Hi Jenifer -

If you are speaking about the 13 tags that you can add to your etsy listing toward the end of the listing, these tags are for etsy searches only do not have anything to do with google.

I just did a google search for your shop and did not find it. Have you enabled Shopping Engine Ads? If you have enabled them, try disabling them for 30 minutes, re-enabling them.

Look under Promote on the right hand side of your Listing Manager screen.

Yes, Google changed how they use/render images about maybe a year ago! But I think it also has to do with how Etsy publishes our images. Doesn't seem right and it very annoying to see a pic and then not be able to go directly to the shop!!!

There is however the other side of good search where...google shopping where our product get submit paid for my etsy...so I guess there is at least that.

I actually had that happen when I was shopping for something. I clicked on the picture and it took me to a page of somewhat unrelated things on Etsy. I never did find the item that I wanted that had the beautiful picture that showed up in google search. It was kind of a bummer for me and even though the seller doesn't know it, a bummer for them as well.

Great to know I'm not crazy!! ;-D I've tested it many times though & gotten the same result.
AND it ONLY happens with ETSY items!
Items from other stores go to the page to buy that piece as it should.
I think we need to ask Etsy about this

It has to be extremely frustrating for customers if they find a picture of exactly what they want, and then can't get to it!

It is frustrating. I have had it happen to me as a shopper. I couldn't find the item I wanted to see and gave up.

I think if a shop owner has done the work to get found in a Google search, they should get the reward.

Had to do some updating to my GA and saw that GA universal is the recommended upgrade....you have to switch over each site/link one at a time-no bulk upgrades, lol
Not sure if this will help but might as well since it is free :-)
