Our EtsySocial Auto Retweet App is Ready!!!

Hi Team!

As many of you know, we have been without our auto-retweeting since around this time last year when RoundTeam changed their subscription plans. And just recently we tried a new app TeamSocial but it too was not the right fit for us.

We needed an app that could deliver a pretty high volume of retweets but at a reasonable price point. That's when it became quite clear to us that we needed our own thing!

And I am happy to announce that we now have our own Auto-Retweet app built into my EtsySocial site. Our app has been tried and tested and is up and running! It will auto-retweet us via one Team Twitter list bringing us all back together again!!

So Team, below in the next post, you will find instructions for setting up your auto-retweet!

Lastly, a big thank you to our teamies who were so committed to testing the new app! You all were amazing providing such awesome reporting, analyses, spreadsheets, thoughts/ideas/suggestions...I'm literally tearing up right now!...#appreciation XOXO

Yaay!!! :D Yes, Team please add your items to your profile on EtsySocial! Not only do you show up in the directory but those items get tweeted to EtsySocial's Twitter account!

And be sure to use links that include your shop name (sorry Karen forgot to mention this part) like so:

insert your shop name after .com/ like this

Your shop name keeps other people's listing from being shown at the top of your product page when people click the link to your item.

Hi Clarissa, I tried adding my shop name to my tweets via etsysocial as you suggested but to do that I had to delete a lot of the description after the website address. Now when I click on the link on Twitter it just goes to an error page not to my shop? So I have now deleted my name off the link in etsysocial and will see what happens. Should I leave the whole of the link intact including the full description?

just saying....... in spite of all our efforts on twitter I very seldom get a visit from twitter in my stats and have had no sales for weeks. maybe I need to refresh my titles and tags etc.

I find that Etsy categorizes visits as coming from Direct sources when in fact they come from Twitter. Check your total visits since starting this RT app and the total visits prior to this app.

The bottom line is sales. My sales have been really poor but my visits are up. Visits are great as are prospects. The question is how qualified are these prospects and visitors.

I notice plenty of visit via Pinterest are we doing any more there? I know we have at least two team boards.
I I've tried again inserting my shop name into my listing id and the link still doesn't work on Twitter. If you have a moment please could you look at this. I don't know how important it is and am happy to leave it out. I will put one more in as a tester.

I do as Clarissa suggested and insert my shop name after etys.com/ in the url. Please note that your shop name has to be bracketed with "/" as follows:

This URL needs to be shorted to work reliably. I used bitly (https://bitly.com/) to shorten the one above to:

http://etsy.me/2fo2Q04

Put the link above in your tweet and you will see it works.

PLUS, we are very close to having automatic tweets directly from our shops! with pics! I think ita just a matter of a couple days before its ready for us to test and tweak!

Then we can just use the scheduler for other tweets if we want.

Hi Jan! Just to clarify, i was originally talking about adding the shop name to the Featured Listings in your etsysocial profile, is that what you are referring to or are you working the scheduled auto tweets?

Adding your shop name the tweets is a good Idea. let me know and I can walk you through it.

And I'm happy to go in and take a look. I will just need to reset your password and when I'm done you'll just need to use the forgot password to set it back.

And Team, I'm glad to hear you all talking about qualifying our lead/prospects/vistors! That is the next step for us!

After our developer is done with the upgrade to our auto-tweeting, we going to begin work on a new feature that will help us engage the people who are already interested in our products, the people who favorite our shop and items and buy from us!

Hi Clarissa, sorry I seem to have missed the point here. I was trying to add my shop name to my auto tweets! Yes please walk me through it because as you know I am a bit of a novice at this.
I will check out the team Pinterest boards. Thank you.

So I was just in your etsysocial and I updated some of the links so I could walk you thru it and I have to say the steps aren't pretty. :/

Editing a Tweet
1. click the edit link of the tweet you want to work on

2. inside the editing box EDIT the url to include your shop name (you can just replace the uk with it) and COPY it

3. next click the url shortner - the icon that looks like a 'link' next to where it says 'Your Tweet Message"

4. PASTE your url there then click 'generate short url'

now here's where it really gets ugly...you have to COPY the generated url and before you close the window you have to delete what's in those fields or delete the info when you come back to do the next one but in any case the info will not automatically clear...boo! I know! Tweaks! to be made!

5. now that you have your short url you can replace the long url in the edit box and click save

and on to the next one! I did about 5 of them.

Let me know if you need help! Don't forget, just use the 'forgot password' button to reset your password.

Hi Della, I just checked...you don't have your shop's name in your urls but they are shortened and do function as is.
