EtsySocial Retweets & Twitter - Important Please Read!

Hi Team!

As some of you are aware there is a new development with regard to our app where some members have had their twitter accounts locked. After taking certain steps they were able to unclock there accounts, however, I have just become aware of an account that may have been temporarily restricted in relation to what's happening.

I believe I have identified what in our retweeting triggered this response from twitter and I have our developer working on resolving the issue!

I expect to hear from him in the next few hours. I'm hoping for good news that this will be an easy fix!

***PLEASE NOTE:****
Those who are getting locked, as a precautionary measure, you may want to deactivate your Auto-Retweets for now. In your EtsySocial Dashboard - on the Auto Retweet Tab - uncheck the "Activate" box.

Please post below if you are encountering any problems.

Ok you guys I have a new theory about "behavior" that is getting people locked out. I think that actually logging into Twitter and manually doing some things while there like tweeting favoring or retweeting will definitely help the situation.

Here is another factor I have been thinking about. Some of us seem to belong to multiple groups and we hashtag many of then in each tweet. I stopped doing that and tend to put only one or two team hashtags on each tweet. (Partially because I want to know which app or service is "delivering" the RTs and views.) I am wondering if we include everyyone and their cousin in our hashtags that may ring some alarms.

So new survey:

1. Shop Name
2. Have you been locked out lately
3. How many group hashtags do you use in your tweets (such as #etsysocial #etsymnett #jetteam #pottiteam etc.)

I will start it off:
1. DoveJewelryDesign
2. No
3. 1 or 2

I definitely think this was a Twitter glitch. I got locked out multiple times even though Etsy Social had been completely deactivated over the weekend. This led me to conclude that the problem was not the Etsy social app. I left Etsy Social off for a couple of days to see what would happen. I continued to get locked out even though my retweets were manually done and at low numbers.

Yesterday I reactivated Etsy Social and it is retweeting the group like normal. I have not been locked out by Twitter for 3 days now. It has been frustrating, but looks like everything is working fine again.

I am active on twitter for last few days, but I don't seem to be getting retweets from the team. My views are way down because of this? I had the retweet button off would this be the cause.

Yes Della. You need the retweet button on to get automatic RTs.

Not locked out for a couple of weeks.
I never put more than 3 #hashtags and/or 3 @mentions in a tweet. Back in the days when many of us used RoundTeam to retweet, the default for RoundTeam was 3 #hashtags and 3 @mentions. Any more than that, and the tweet would not be retweeted, unless the default had been changed to something else.

I don't think mine are working again either ... I don't even have 24 I think I have 20 set up to not be over tweeted ... I could be wrong but I am not seeing retweets in my twitter feed, have not checked notifications yet.

Most people who had problems with twitter have resolved them. Have not seen much in terms of twitter lockout lately.

Orange and some of the others, you may want to go to login to teamsocial acct and re-allow teamsocial to access your twitter account. Basically what that meant is that I logged in and asked to switch twitter accounts (but did not) and got a message that I was good to go.

If you are autotweeting through the account make sure you have the autotweet box checked off. The system sometimes unchecks it for you.

Hi Team!

If you post your tweets via etsysocial and your not getting retweeted you may need to reauthorized your twitter as Yona suggested. Thanks Yona!

Just log into your etsysocial click the auto tweet tab and click change twitter. It will take you through the steps.

The twitter token expires...not quite sure if thats normal...i'll have to find and if so devise an alert for us.

Regarding lock outs, i havent experienced that recently either.

Perhap it will pass like it did for others. Give it another couple days.

I have done this but I keep getting the "Spinner" in chrome so it never fully goes through. I have tried it a few times and I just get a grayed out spinner.

Sorry to double post, did not catch it in time, I just checked notifications, last time I was tweeted by the app was NOV 1 ... I just tried to reauthorize it both on the auto tweets page and the last page when you log in. The auto tweets page is filled out and I reauthorized, not sure if it went through.

The last page I keep getting a GRAY Spinner. Also, wondering if we still must "Manually" enter #etsymntt in our auto tweets or if the 2 hashtags we fill in at the top of that page suffice?

I have #etsymntt and #decor in those two tags but last I left off we still had to put #etsymntt in the list of tweets we want to autotweet. Sorry to be such a PITA (not talking bread here either)

I have not been locked but I am not being retweeted even when I remove auto-retweet setting. Do you know when this problem will be resolved?

I’m not getting retweet’s. I’ve tried clicking auto retweets on Etsy Social and then on change Twitter but not sure what I put in where it says Hashtag 1 and 2?
