VISION:
A social platform that gives us full access to an Etsy-centric audience making it possible for us to promote Team shops dynamically in a variety of ways such as banner ads and newsletters, as well as other types of mailings.

MISSION:
Search Save & Share: Etsy Faves is an etsy-centric, community-driven, interactive social platform where Users can:

• search the site to discover what they love
• Save their favorites in Collections they create
• Interact through ‘Comments’, ‘Likes’, ‘ReSaves’ and ‘Follows’
• Share what they love on their other social pages i.e. FB and Twitter.

ESTABLISHING GUIDELINES FOR OURSELVES
We are going to be the first users of the site and it’s important that we lead the way to set the tone. We are creating the environment and we don't want to come across as self-severing, just promoting ourselves and each other. WE DON’T WANT people thinking Etsy Faves is just an Etsy Team trying to promote themselves!

We all want to get our stuff out there but let’s keep in mind, there’s a line between sharing enough and sharing too much and turning people off.

Here something I think will help us on how to share on Etsy Faves:

We can make Etsy Fave popular but doing so will require us to share authentically and strategically and that means sharing products from shops that are not a part of the Team. With that, our content will be more diverse and flowing. People will be drawn to Etsy Faves.

Remember our goal is to build a social platform where the audience is ours giving us control and all manner of opportunities to feature ourselves (in ways that are appropriate and welcomed). That’s our BIG picture, our long game.

In the next post below, are tip/thoughts/suggestions for getting set up on Etsy Faves!

Team, as we each set ourselves up on Etsy Faves – our profile and collections – here are some things for us to consider:

1- Represent ourselves both personally and professionally

Set up our profile reflecting our etsy shop / brand

i. Add a Banner & Short Description

ii. Create one Collection for your “our own products” - optional

iii. Create Collections relevant –to your interests, your followers, your brand

iv. use a good ratio rule for adding content - content from others, content from you, and ReSaves – ie 4-1-1 or 5-5-5 or something along those lines

v. Transparency when adding our own products to our other relevant collections: use words like ‘and here’s something from my shop’ or ‘here’s a hat I made this morning’


2- Build a “Following” just as you would on any other social media site:

a. Be authentic, genuine, establish trust (you're not there to sell them)

b. Connect with people who are into what you’re into

c. Be of service to others

Do we have an Etsy Faves hashtag up and running if so is it #etsyfaves ?

Well unfortunately @etsyfaves is already in use but not active (no tweets since 2016 and just a few followers). I trying to reach them to see if they will relinquish the username to us.

In the meantime our twitter is @etsy_faves.

So I'm thinking we should wait a little bit to see if we get an answer back and if we don't then decide. #etsy_faves or #etsyfaves

Hi Team!

SOME NOTES/STRATEGIES FOR SAVES:

1. When using the bookmarklet be sure to pick the picture used in the listing. (other pictures tend to get pulled into the selection)

2. ADD a brief description - the description gets included in the Tweet and will help to make people want to click thru.

This is something Etsy does very well. Could be a little funny or just something interesting about the item. But don't drive yourself crazy. We will get good at this with practice!

3. COMMENT on your Save - Comments are visible on the frontpage (where as the description is only visible when the Save is clicked)

We want to set the stage for lots of commenting. Commenting will be one of the major attractions of the site.

4. Setting Up Your profile -

So! Here's what I've done for my ManAndStone:

I've crated 5 Collections (so far)
- Gifts for Him
- Gifts for Her
- Boho Men
- I Want All the Beads
- ManAndStone Collection

Thinking I will post my stuff in my ManAndStone Collection and then sprinkle them into my other collections as ReSaves.

I got to spend some time on our site and it's been fun! especially Commenting! Team, I think our site is going to great! Feeling the potential here!
