I've always thought it would be super fabulous to have a local magazine/publication that features all of the beautiful artists & crafters here in Hampton Roads. A monthly outlet that puts our work in front of the eyes who appreciate our work, but there isn't one.

So after a ton of back and forth hubby and I decided we should go for it. Here's where you all come in!

We need some willing artists and crafters who would like to be featured(for free) in our launch issue scheduled for mid summer.

My vision is a treasure trove of eye candy that the community looks forward to full of how to articles, tons of images of artistic works, and info articles. You can tell me what you'd like to include.

I'm super excited to see this come together...if you have a side talent or know anyone who could share some input, please let me know that too.

I love this idea. I think it's a great way for local crafters to be seen by people who don't like or can't go to the craft events but like to purchase handmade items from local crafters.

Hey Jeannette! Thanks for your feedback. The idea is to keep our local creators in front of the community month after month in engaging ways, in addition to shows. Looking forward to meeting more of the local creative community :)

O I love this idea! If there was a section that listed all the upcoming shows and the contact for reserving a spot.. that would be wonderfully helpful!

Another avenue to consider: maybe the Virginian Pilot would give you/us a section...

Melanie, that would be awesome! I feel so out of the loop with shows. Although I don't think I'll ever have the inventory to participate in a show, I love to go and buy from local artists.

Melanie, that's a fantastic idea! THIS is why I love being around other creatives! Yay! I agree upcoming shows would be a great section, because I always seem to hear about them when it's too late...so then I go to support instead of sell...which is also good thing too:)

Probably would be a great idea to have a place on the website too, where you could list/post events that way it's continually updated... :)
