Re: Daily chat

Hi everyone, I recently joined Etsy and I'm so excited about opening my shop. Today I've been uploading some PDF patterns, here and on other sites, whilst looking after my boys who all have runny noses and think it's funny to shower me with all their mucus. Looking forward to seeing everyones creations and I hope you like mine.

Re: Daily chat

Morning all. Thought I would drop in and say helloooo :-) I am from north London today will involve a coffee morning then a trip to Oxford street to spend some gift vouchers I have been given. Then if I am not too shopped out I will be sewing a few make up rolls together as I have looked at my stats and these are my most searched items after christmas stock so I figured I should do a wider selection. Bye for now. Clara x

Re: Daily chat

Hi Clara, this sounds like a busy day... It's been ages since I last went to Oxford Street, but with 2 littlle ones it can be stressfull so I head Croydon instead...
My day is going to be in the kitchen as I want to surprise my husband tonight... haven't decided what to cook yet, but it has to be special

Re: Daily chat

Hello London Etsyers,
I am new to Etsy, I have a 9 month old who already walks so my peaceful time sewing while he was lying on his mat is over!
Please let me know what you think about this.
I have ordered this week 6 items from another London Etsyer. Her shop offers free uk shipping. Once at checkout I forgot to use the promo coupon to get free shipping, and I had only realised it the next day. So I convo her about it and she just reply that it was too late & that I was welcome to use the coupon at my next order.
The reason I chose her shop is because she's a Uk seller like me and from the same town!
I don't want to leave her a negative feedback but I think if she was customer friendly she could have refunded delivery.
What was my surprised when I received a convo from a US Etsyer telling me that while my order was on his way, she had refunded some of the shipping fees I had pay!
Thank you for your thought, I hope I was clear.

Re: Daily chat

Hi Maman,
unfortunately after you make a mistake it really depends on the good heart of the seller to decide whether or not to refund you.. saying that I believe that we should be customer focused and as a seller I like to go the extra mile for my customer satisfaction. Is it not possible for you to cancel the order?
If I was you I would convo the seller and explain how disappointed you are and asking clarification on why somebody from US is dealing with your order.
The US etsyer thing is really weird, are your items dispatched from UK or US?

Re: Daily chat

Hi Stefania

Thank you for your reply. Sorry I wasn't clear. The US order was a different order. What I meant was that it is never to late to refund shipping. The US etsyer convo me just to let me know that because shipping costs were less than what I've paid so she had refunded me the difference.
She was indeed really customer focused. Therefore now I do order from her even if it is a longer wait!
Well I have received my order now so I will convo the London seller to tell her my thoughts, that obviously I won't order from her again and will favorite her US competition. I doubt she will care as she has more than 200 positives feedback anyway. But I will see from her reply if I will have to leave my 1st negative feedback ever.
Have a good weekend!

Re: Daily chat

Hi everyone,
Still been continuing my research to take part in Arts and Crafts fairs and so far I'm not getting anywhere and I'm better off going to the events and ask in person. Plus it'll be a good adventure day outing and experience :) This year is a stepping stone for me in learning/finding more things out and hopefully get a place in libraries this year and hopefully get somewhere in the Arts and Crafts Fairs next year. Going shopping tomorrow to get some picture frames to frame artwork and shop for more canvases :)

Re: Daily chat

hello my other London lovelies,
I hope you are all well. Sadly this week I haven't been creating much as I have damaged my back. On the up side this means I have been tinkering loads with my tags and I have seen an increase in my views which is grand :-) and I have been looking at adding even more new lines to my shop as soon as I am fit again.
Enjoy this cold but sunny day
Clara

Re: Daily chat

Hi all,
Maman, I also don't like leaving negative feedback and always convo the seller for any problem, but if the seller doesn't care it is right to leave one. Let us know what the reply was :)

Mysterious, the best thing is always going in person and ask how to get a place. Market managers are always around and other craft makers are always very helpful :)

Clara, sorry for your back, I had back injuries in the past and they're sooo annoying...

I'm getting crazy with taking pictures lately, first I took them and they were too dark, so no use, then my baby got sick and had to constantly nurse him for 3 days. Today he finally went to sleep by himself, the sun was out giving me the perfect light, I set up everything, turned on the camera to find out that the battery needed charge... grrrr... So my new listings will have to wait for a next day of sunshine... :(

Re: Daily chat

Just found an interesting article posted on an other team and thought to share it here too :)
http://www.handmadeology.com/10-real-tips-for-successfully-selling-on-etsy/
This is an exctract from the article:
"My number one tip that I tell new Etsy sellers, is to remember that Etsy is not magic. Just throwing up a bunch of 20 cent listings with no business plan will not bring you the success you are looking for. If you treat your Etsy business like a hobby you will reap hobby money, but if you treat it like a real business you will bring in the money you are striving for . Remember, you reap what you sow."

Re: Daily chat

Hi, my name is Abiola. I am a young Etsy seller who sells mainly clothing, artwork and interior decoration. I don't technically live in London yet (I live nearby in Bedford) but I travel in several days a week for college. I will be properly living in London in September however, when I start at Westminster university studying womenswear fashion design. I've been reading through the conversation going on here and everyone here seems to be very friendly and helpful. I'm going to look through some of the stuff you guys are selling as it is always nice to see what local Etsy sellers are doing with their products. :-)
