New Member Introduction

Hello Everyone,

I joined the team the other night as I saw a post that had my interest.
I have been on Etsy for a couple years now and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have met many wonderful people and I look forward to meeting many others. I joined this group to talk about my favorite hobby which is woodworking and I wanted to get to know other woodworkers.

My favorite thing to do in the woodshop is to make signs and games. I like the different challenges associated with the layouts as well as the many different game variations and history of board games. I have in the past done some scroll saw work, cabinetry, picture frames, construction, as well as turning. I like to mess around with everything from time to time.

I am currently resawing a bunch of Oak logs with my chainsaw mill for future projects. A neighbor had an oak tree that died a while back and I finally had time to take it down for her. For those of you who are familiar with chainsaws, I use a 1962 McCulloch 890 for my milling saw although I have about 20 different McCullochs that I use from time to time. (Mainly when the 890 doesn’t want to run) …. It’s a beast of a saw but very temperamental when it comes to starting....

Anyway I look forward to talking with everyone.

So glad you joined the Woodworker's team. I know what you mean about your chainsaw. I have 3 band saws, 2 pretty brand new but prefer using my very vintage Delta band saw for almost everything.

Welcome Wood Designer,
Chainsaws. gotta love em. Imagine if you had to do all the work but hand................... I know I wouldn't. Along with wood designer I was milling oak the other day. Milled a number of 30" boards with the old Stihl 090. I forgot how heavy the darn thing was!! I guess I am spoiled with the little 24" bars. The hardest part is waiting for a year so the wood can cure!

Spring time is here and I know everyone will be making more and more items with the warmer weather I can't wait to see the new items coming up.

Too all member's, if you have any ideas, questions, suggestions, let me know and I will see what we can do!
Scotty

Re: New Member Introduction

Hi, my name is Paul and my store is SilverwoodFox. I'm new to the team here and etsy, but not new to woodworking. A couple of decades under my belt now of making handmade furniture and heirloom style chests and kids items. I'm a dad and a grandpa with 17 grandchildren that stress test all of my work. I work from my home garage workshop in Southern California. I hope this team can help show me how to sell here and succeed on etsy. If anyone has any good tips I'd love to hear them
