Wholesale Price Breaks

This is for Admin...

Would there be a way to add in total order price breaks? This is fairly standard in the wholesale world.

For instance...this is what I would typically do

Consignment... 60/40, because I am carrying the overhead...and it is not quite fair to give the same price for consignment as to the shops who buy outright
I also usually put a MAX order of 50 pieces for consignment...and will send fill-ins accordingly as sold items are paid for

Pro-forma (pre-paid) & net 30...
50/50 for 24 - 1 gross
45/55 for 2 gross +
40/60 for 3 gross +

Just a thought...and it gives our buyers incentive to merchandise our items well...which in turn brings in more sales for everyone...

I give volume breaks outside of Etsy. Orders over $300 are $2.35 per bomb and orders over $500 are $2.25 per bomb. I suppose we could add a note in the descriptions and then discount the order?

Yes Jackie, we could...but our listings are also used for retail, and that would be unprofessional to let our retail customers know what price or price breaks our wholesale customers are getting...

It would be best if it was built into the wholesale checkout...if it could be

You could make a bulk listing as one item - like one listing is "1 gross: $X" and so on. Then the customer would have to contact you to pick styles (if that's an option).

There are so many other things I'd rather see Etsy Wholesale improve than to add an additional pricing option - but I can definitely see why this would be beneficial.

Don't forget that Etsy is still taking its 3.5% on our wholesale orders - don't price yourself too low!

Thanks for your suggestions with this. I'll be marking down the idea of enabling ways for sellers to offer additional price breaks for larger quantities.

In the meanwhile, you're welcome to mention about price breaks or extra percentages off for larger orders in your Wholesale Policies. This way, Wholesale buyers can see what price breaks you have, but it isn't visible on your retail shop. If a buyer meets your minimums for breaks, you can add a credit to the order before you invoice the buyer. Adding a credit allows you to add a line description, so you can notate exactly why you're providing a discount and what that discount is.

Let me know if you guys think of any other updates you'd like to see on the platform so we can consider them!

Variations could be a problem !
When I list necklaces with color variations and a buyer wants 10 but 5 of each color (to reach the minimumof 10 items)
how can this work to add 2 different colors and numbers in the same listing
In my retail shop I had this problem and with a message from a buyer it was resoved
I wonder with wholesale if buyers would message on such details

As for offering more discount in bulk I made special section in my linesheet with bulk listings and so far this seems to work but will know better when I have an order

You do not need to have same listing description in both retail and wholesale so that further offers for wholesale buyers would not be seen by your retail customers
I just copy listings and mark wholesale only and change some of the descriptiion to suit wholesale buyers

I have a listing for x pairs of earrings, mixed colors (my choice) for $X.
Volume discounts could always be listed as variations of this

So if it were earrings, it could be pack of 10 = $75, pack of 20 $140, pack of 40 $260 etc. At least since we don't pay for listings on Wholesale, it does give us some flexibility.

Since they are wholesale only listings, they aren't seen in the retail store.
