Issues with new unified listings manager

Okay, I really liked the idea of managing my Etsy retail and wholesale shops in the same place. But I just got the new changes and it's kind of a nightmare. Everything is all jumbled together and it's making managing my shop a huge hassle. I need to keep separate wholesale listings because there's no support for case quantities or item-level minimums, so now I've got tons of listings, most of which are "duplicates" and it's very confusing to sort through because everything looks the same.

99% of the time I am on the listings manager page it's going to be to manage my retail shop- updating inventory, making edits, checking to see what's getting low, re-listing sold out items. The wholesale listings are more of a "set and forget" type of thing. I realize I can select the sales channel from the drop down menu, but it's kind of a pain to have to switch to retail every time I'm on the page. I don't even know why there would need to be an "all items" view in the first place, but can we at least get the option to set our own default view?

I'd rather it go back the way it was than stay like this.

(Also, I noticed the search only brings up retail items- seems like a bug.)

Re: Issues with new unified listings manager

Hi Brook,

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately there is no way to set which default channel filter is set. You would have to select Retail Only if you wanted to omit the Wholesale listings.

The search function in the listings manager looks at active retail listings, wholesale listings are omitted because from a technical perspective they are considered "not searchable" from the retail view. This is not a bug and unfortunately will not be changed.

Could you tell us more about why you keep separate listings for wholesale and retail when the product is the same?

We understand it is a big change in your account and hope that after a little time the flow will become more intuitive. There are big changes to seller tools on the way and I will pass along your feedback regarding default filter options.

Re: Issues with new unified listings manager

When I filter my listing manager by Wholesale it says I don't have anything listed for Wholesale, but as far as I can tell I do (or I did, anyway). How do I know if they are actually showing?

Hey John - the migration was in progress, you should see your wholesale listings in the Listings Manager now :)

You will have separate wholesale and retail listings now, so if you wish to unify them to have one set of listings to manager, we have outlined instructions here:
https://www.etsy.com/help/article/5243#Q21

Here is also a walk through of the changes you will see:

Please let me know if you run into any issues!

Re: Issues with new unified listings manager

Hi Sonia-

I have to keep separate listings because I sell my products by the case, for wholesale orders. For example- I do not want a wholesale customer buying one Moroccan Fig soap, five Vanilla Amber soaps, three Saltwater soaps, and so on. I sell them in sets of 6 per scent. Lip balms are 12 per scent. I sell low cost, lower margin items- so the only way I can offer wholesale is with quantity orders.

There's another thread going on about item minimums and case quantities that I commented on earlier today. If there were support for setting my case sizes/minimums on EW, then yes I could use the same listings. Though I do use different titles and modified copy in the listings, so I may still prefer to keep them separate. I like to direct my copy to the intended audience, and selling to a regular retail buyer is different than selling to a wholesale customer.

Re: Issues with new unified listings manager

I agree with Brooke about having so many listings all mixed together is really confusing. I really think it would be much more tidy if the wholesale listings were in a different tab - just like expired and sold-out are.

I also keep separate listings because my descriptions are different.

Also, today I was editing the wholesale listings and noticed some didn't have a sku anymore, and many had all the same sku. Super frustrating having to go through all and fixing it, which I didn't do but will have at some point.

Re: Issues with new unified listings manager

I'm not excited about having my retail & wholesale listings jumbled together. Separate tabs for each, as was mentioned above, makes MUCH more sense to me. Thanks for considering this!

Re: Issues with new unified listings manager

Hi Soledad - Can you send me an example of a listing that no longer has a SKU field and one where the SKUs are incorrect?

Re: Issues with new unified listings manager

This one kept just one of the SKUs - since before we had one for each variation and now we only have one, I guess. But at least corresponds to the same listing.

This one doesn't have a SKU at all:

And this one has the wrong SKU:

Hope it helps!

Also, this one shows different info on pricing on the preview v/s drop-down options (sterling should be what's on the preview):

Hi Soledad,

We are currently in the process of rolling out the new listing page to buyers. We had to wait to release the seller tools to all sellers before changing the buyer experience.

Re: Issues with new unified listings manager

Ah, was just wondering about this. I have the same issue. and I would like my titles to be different on Wholesale than on Retail. I am thinking that I will have different listings as well.

Re: Issues with new unified listings manager

The buyer view of the listing changes have been released to all members at this time. Your buyers will see the same listing as when you preview. Your variations will now work seamlessly. If you wish to have different titles or descriptions, you will need to have two separate listings. Please let me know if you have any questions!
