Change in payment method

Hi all
I have had a customer pay their invoice with a personal check sent to me, instead of the method they selected on their purchase order, which was payment by credit card. How do I indicate that the invoice has been paid since no credit card was processed?

Go to your invoice, edit your order and change the payment method. Then you can mark it as paid.

I tried that; edited it and changed it to "personal check" - then, it sent another invoice to the client, so I had to send off an email saying 'please disregard this' ??? but I still can't find a "MARK AS PAID" button. Any ideas? It just seems like it'd be so simple to do but I can't see it anywhere...

I usually mark as paid in the "open invoices" tab. I don't have any orders awaiting a manual payment, but I think it should also be visible on the invoice itself. Do you see a button in either of those places?

Thanks for the support Jennifer. I did send the invoice. I cannot see any buttons to indicate a payment was made. Right now I will just keep it as an open invoice.

What options do you see in your open invoices tab for that order...over to the right under the actions column? If you do not see any option to mark as paid (something you need to mark, not the buyer), and you have switched the payment method, and an invoice was sent...then I would contact Admin. Might be a bug of some sort.

To the right of the Open order, there are the words "Awaiting Payment" but it is not an active link. I will follow up with admin.

That sounds like direct checkout is the payment method on that order. What does the payment method say on the invoice?
