Adding Items to Order -- Question/Suggestion

Wondering if there is a way for the buyer to add/edit the order before I accept? I was told by a buyer that he couldn't edit his order, so now he has to cancel & reorder the whole thing to add items that weren't in my linesheet at time of purchase (but are in there now). For reference, I haven't accepted the order yet.

Any reason they can't edit the order to add items to it, especially before I accept it? Seems like there should be an easier way to do this for buyers and/or sellers to do it manually for the buyer. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see the option.

Re: Adding Items to Order -- Question/Suggestion

You, the seller, can add stuff to it, rather than having the buyer start from scratch. I know that doesn't really answer your question...don't really have an answer for that. Good luck!

Re: Adding Items to Order -- Question/Suggestion

Hey! I don't see the option anywhere for me to add stuff to it. I see that I can change the quantities, but we want to add actual items to their PO that weren't already in there. How would I go about that?

Re: Adding Items to Order -- Question/Suggestion

You'd have to do it on that little "add charge" line that's near the dollar total of the order. It has a little drop down menu, with stuff like "add a shipping charge"and so forth. When i do this i select "other" then type in the total dollar amount for those extra items, and then write a detailed description of those items down in the note to buyer section. Hope this helps!

Re: Adding Items to Order -- Question/Suggestion

I've never thought about that, but once submitted to the seller, I'm not sure if a buyer can edit the order on their end (?)

But, as Hummingbird suggested, you can add items. Hope you got it figured out!

Re: Adding Items to Order -- Question/Suggestion

@HummingbirdFactory: Thanks for the detailed response + help! I'll have to take that into consideration if this happens again. Just wish there was an easier way that would actually include the item from my linesheet. Seems it would make sense that before an order is accepted, you'd be able to actually edit it, but oh well.

@Jennifer: Yeah, my buyer told me he couldn't edit it. I think it'd make a lot of sense that, before an order is accepted, the buyer would be able to edit it. I understand that once it's accepted it wouldn't make sense to be able to edit it as a buyer (since the seller has only accepted it based on the items already in it). Maybe they'll add it in the future--would be nice!

Re: Adding Items to Order -- Question/Suggestion

Hi all!

Just wanted to pop in to say the buyer is correct, Julie: buyers cannot edit a PO once they've submitted it. If the seller hasn't taken action on it, the only thing a buyer can do is cancel the PO.

You can add items by adding line charges as Hummingbird suggested. That's our best workaround right now, but I've noted the request for either buyers or sellers to be able to add items to POs after they've been submitted!

Re: Adding Items to Order -- Question/Suggestion

Hi Dana! Thank you so much for noting the request. That would be such a great thing to be able to do, on either end (buyer or seller)! Would be much preferred over the current methods. Hoping to see that option in the future!
