wording for halfway-custom orders

I'm starting to make custom zipper pouches, so far it's been a BLAST but my customers have been really cool (mostly from trade teams, I'm recruiting to get started). They've all said stuff like, "this if for my daughter eva, she likes dolphins, go for it I trust you, surprise me!"

Now, right now in my listing the rule is "here are my ready-made themes, tell me the name you want on it."

I would like to convey the idea that I can do new themes... but ONLY if they're the simple "here it is I trust you" sort of customization, not the "I'd like to see 10 revisions and tweak 20 things and pre-approve all artwork and be indecisive for a week" sort of thing. Not for the price I'm charging, anyway.

What's a nice way to say that? Anyone else have a custom listing up with similar wording, or policies on the limits of back-and-forth convoing that can go on with custom work? I want to keep my sanity here.

Re: wording for halfway-custom orders

Maybe you could basically say what you just said - "I am willing to do a different theme, but please be aware that I am not able to do revisions after the item is complete." Maybe you could make an item based on the person's requested theme and then tell them that they can approve or decline the completed item before adding the person's name. If they decline it, you could list it in your shop for someone else to buy. Is that possible? You could also create a more expensive listing for "custom" orders and then allow some of the more specific requests. It seems like people are usually more willing to pay more for custom items. But if you don't want to get into that, just list up front that revisions are not permitted!

Or something along the lines "I enjoy creating unique items where I can explore within a given theme . " or "give me a theme and I'll create something for you".

Re: wording for halfway-custom orders

hi spacefem, i looked at your shop. maybe you can have a custom listing where you specify the shape/look of the zipper pouches or say pick shape 1, 2 or 3, and a line that says, convo me with your request on a theme, i'd be happy to find a fabric for you. all custom orders are paid in advance. i'd offer to send a photo of the fabric before asking them to pay, just to be sure they are happy, but maybe then you end up stuck with fabric that can't easily be used if you do that?
i think the trouble here is that you can get bad feedback if you send something someone ends up hating for some reason. but i think you can really limit the convos but just stating up front what the shape & fabric will be and once they've approved that, you do your thing. PAID UPFRONT of course. custom orders should be paid in advance, in my opinion.
