I never really though about them until I saw them in a few other shops and really loved how they looked. So I thought, how fun! I want to try that! So I did! lol I just posted my first set of gift cards. I only made a set of 10 to start with. But it was so fun and easy!
My question is.... do you think these are even worth while? I mean, do people actually buy gift tags? I only wonder since it was really something I never even thought of before seeing them on here....
i like your gift tags, they are very cute. i know a few other shops who do very well with gift tags. they are great for birthdays and especially around the holidays i imagine they do very well.
just some friendly advice, i would definitely raise the price of the ones you have in your shop. $1.50 for a set of 10 seems really low and you have to factor in the time it takes you to make them and list them, etc.
When I had my old shop two years ago my biggest seller were 2" scalloped circles (no holes unless requested). My shop was set up to sell jewelry and handmade cards but the inexpensive tags are what sold the most. lol My biggest reason for selling them was to cover the cost of fees for the other items I was listing (you have to admit, tags are pretty inexpensive to make). I got a little discouraged when the tags were my biggest seller. I had one customer request a large custom order to use as price tags for a craft fair. I've often thought of adding a section to my current shop because there seems to be a market for them. I just don't feel like punching all those tags. :p
Adding on to what Hayley said about your prices. $1.50 is way too low. When you figure in your Etsy and Paypal fees, you're not going to make anything on them.
Thank you for the feedback!! I thought they were priced low as well. However I looked at other shops that sell tags and they were selling like. 100 for $4.00!!! I didn't know what to do after seeing that! I thought theirs was low...
well, to answer your question, being crafty myself, I would usually make my own gift tags,. however, many people will buy gift tags to give a fabulous look to their presents and yours are very pretty.
I sell gift tags in my shop as well and they were very popular at Christmas... but I also include a gift tag with each order that matches the gift box usually people are purchasing my ornaments as gifts and I feel it completes the package : ) I'm actually working on a more spring set...
