weird thing going on today. more favorites than views? how is this possible?

okay so I've been a pretty solid seller here on etsy. i have one item called a "mystery vintage sweater" this is my number seller right now. whats weird is this listing gets maybe 50-60 views and 30-40 favorites a day. well today I've had 50ish views today but almost 300 favorites. i was just wondering how this is possible? I've NEVER had that many favorites and my views are normal. the most favorites I've ever had in a day on this item was maybe 50 so why 300 today? and also how can you favorite an item without viewing it.

Yes you can fav without viewing. When you put your mouse over the picture of the listing a heart pops up in the corner you can click :)

I don't know why you would have so many favorites, but you can favorite an item item from the thumbnail without clicking on it so that would show up as a favorite and not a view. If you move the mouse over the thumbnail the heart will appear enabling you to favorite from there.

I kind of wish Etsy would change that because if a person had to click on the item to favorite it then that item would get a view which will help in relevancy. And when a person doesn't actually view it you can't tell which search words they typed in that brought your item up.

Someone who has a bunch of followers might have initially favorited it, which can cause sort of a domino effect of exposure for that listing. One person favorites it which puts it into the activity feed of all their followers, another person from person A's activity feed favorites it which then puts it into the activity feed of all their followers, etc...
