showcases?

Does anyone know when Etsy opens up more dates to purchase for the showcase? Every time I check, more dates have opened...and got sold!

It opens every evening at 12 am. You really have to book it then, they go quick.

I bought one and didn't see a noticeable difference in traffic. Has anyone else experienced this?

I bought one that was for this past weekend and notice a lot of traffic -- I changed the item that was featured a couple of times. I did not get any purchases during the showcase time.

I can't imagine why people keep buying these showcases. I tried a couple without any sales and very little views. But judging from the bookings some shops must be having success. I would like to hear from them to see what they sell.

I book showcases and I generally get a sale or two. I am new so I was just booking them to get exposure. I won't book as many but I look at it as an advertisement expense. I book bags and purses.

I have bought several, different categories, different times of year. I don't think I have ever got a sale from one, that being said, I have had TONS of views and hearts, so possibly a later sale could have been from an earlier showcase, but I have never seen a huge mass of sales on the day of the showcase.

I'm assuming the spots open at 12am Eastern Time.
I've booked some, and found it unlikely to get a spot for what I wanted (Jewelry and Art). Fortunately, there are subcategories that are more likely to have an opening sometime.
Some of the ones I've had did bring many, many views, others not as many... I guess the items and its pictures need to stand out to customers. As far as sales, I can't specifically associate a single sale to a showcase, but exposure is definetely a must for a business... more exposure increases the chances of sales. I think it's worth giving it a try and see how it works for your shop and go from there.

Maybe I am just a bit slow, but I can't find where you would look at the current showcases..Can anyone help me with a link or something?

I am having a very slow flow of traffic even after adding a maximum number of circles and adding at least 30 favorites a day. Anyone want to critique my shop and see what is going on? Is it my content? Seriously needing help and advice here. I have made 2 sales and 1 trade. That was exciting, but now I am on a slow stretch. HELP

Also, the idea behind my store is that it is a huge variety of mediums and items. The person who visits is encouraged to find THEIR Whimsical Anything. I always ship extras (sometimes a pair of earrings, sometimes a handbag, sometimes something else that is whimsical). So, if anyone wants to critique my store...let me know!

In my opinion, use your money to relist. I get WAY more views, hearts, and sales relisting items every couple of days than I ever have with Showcase.

I've bought a couple of showcases and I don't think I've sold anything that way. I did notice if I renew my listings I get more views! better sales! and a lot less expensive that a showcase =D

I have purchased a couple, and didn't notice an increase in traffic either. but being new myself, I look at is at least a small amount of exposure. Sometimes buyers need some sort of reinforcement about a seller - seeing their work in different places I would think could help. If an immediate sale doesn't happen, it could help in the long run, but I think there are more effective ways to drive traffic to my shop - outside of Etsy.

I have one more booked for this week, and it will probably be my last for quite some time. I could renew many items for the $7.00 that the showcase costs. and renewing items makes a much larger difference in my opinion.

I read on one of Etsy's posts this week that had a breakdown of where clicks come from - very low on the list was showcases. If I can find it Ill post the link here.

the way they have the showcase now, hard to find & too many clicks.... is totally a waste of money.

it used to be good wheu it was on the 1st page of etsy, i'd buy showcases & actually make sales, but not any more.

Have the page ready and keep hitting the F5 key for refresh,don't know what it is on a Mac. The second and I mean second they open be ready to click the one you want. It is worse than a White Sale at Macys!! They go in seconds.

Showcases are a waste of money. I tried it a few times and got one sale, but not actually sure it was because of the showcase (another item was sold).

I just found the showcase link. I am reasonably computer savvy, but it took me a while to find them. I can't see the buying of a showcase doing much good with where they are now located. I won't be buying any anytime soon.

Oh yeah, the whole reason I came in this room was to vent about showcases. I have purchased, oh (embarrassed to admit the number) 7 or so..with no success. I instead have found that renewing items gets more traffic simply because your item then gets listed at the top of the list for that category.
