search ads are not working!!!!

I hate the new search ads. I promised myself I would not spend any more then I used to on Showcase spots per month. Now my "views" are down by two thirds of last year. My revenue is higher but I know that the views last year resulted in sale as the holidays approached. I think these search ads are not helping us but are helping Etsy make more money. I have complained twice but only received polite "thank you for your input" letters.
I would like to see the showcase spots return but one voice isn't enough. If you are as frustrated as me please voice your complain to Etsy. I think the search ads WITH Showcase spots could be very helpful.

I never had the opportunity to use showcases, because I sell jewelry, and those slots would sell out in a manner of minutes, and I was never on (at midnight?) when the slots would go up for sale.

I honestly think the showcase system was heavily flawed, mainly for the reason I just listed. It might have worked for some people selling some things, but certainly wasn't ideal for everybody. So I think Search Ads are probably an improvement over that.

Now I can't say that I'm happy with Search Ads, either.. I'm still undecided on that. But when I don't think that it's worth it, I just take that money over to facebook or somewhere else to do an ad campaign for a bit. Just advertise however works best for you -- you may find advertising somewhere else entirely would be money better spent. You never know until you try. :)

I love your shop!
I have never been happy with the results of buying search ads. I feel like I am able to get more views for no money by posting on stumbleupon. It has been months since I last purchased an ad and I doubt I will ever do it again. My views in the past few months has grown exponentially and it is all done by using social media and making connections in person.
So I totally agree with you, the ads aren't worth it.

Could not agree more! The ads do not seem worth it at all! I tried different "tactics" this week and am still frustrated as ever. I'd much rather spend my money elsewhere OR save it.

Not a happy ads camper at all.

The ads and the showcases are both a waste of money. If you work on titles and tags and relevancy, those will bring in as many viewers as ads/showcases ever would. I stopped buying ads/showcases back in April, worked on titles/tags, and almost doubled my views.

I actually seem to be getting more sales with it- although I am not sure if its just a coincidence because Im not really sure how it works. Sometimes it will say that I paid $1.62 on day and only had 4 tags used? Not sure
