relist vs new listing

Is it wise to renew an expired listing or should you actually just redo and list as a new item? Does a relisted item show up as a new item?

A relisted item keeps all its stats such as views and favorites whereas a new item starts with zero. If it's the same exact item I always renew the listing.

I have just read conflicting information about relisted items do not show up in the feed like a new item would.

renewing keeps your item connected to those that like it...and give can give your listing a new life.

I don't worry about my items showing up in feed. I'm more focused on relevancy in search results.

I renew the expired listing. I would rather keep my existing favorites rather than try to catch one or two in the feed.

Having more hearts increases the relevancy within Etsy. This means the more hearts, the closer to the first page your listing will show up in. So keep your hearts by relisting!
