While conducting a search, this popped up next to the search field... When I tried to click it, nothing happened.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there an update that I may have missed somewhere?

Yes I read that when I was searching; the drop down has disappeared and the link is explaining how you don't have Handmade, Vintage, Shops, etc categories to choose from & you just type in what you are looking for and possible matches pop up. Apparently not everyone has the new search yet. I've seen other threads about it; it's not a hit with many people.

That can be problematic if you want to send someone to your shop with out them having to type your shops ETSY addy???

That's very interesting. On one hand, it might work out to be better because often shoppers who aren't familiar with Etsy don't even realize that there is a drop down menu - so if they're searching for the name of your shop they won't necessarily get it because the default is "handmade".

seems to be a problem to find shops. It may help if your shop name is one of your tags. At least that's what I'm thinking after trying it out.

Well, due to my views plummeting, I just wondered if there was a change to the search algorithm... My views have dropped drastically since April, along with sales, and I am not sure what happened :-/.

it frustrates me to no end that when someone types in your store name to the etsy search bar it doesn't bring up your shop! Or at least listings from it. I don't understand why I would need to use a precious search keyword up (as 14 is not very many) to have my shop name in my listings.
It feels like all the branding work I do is not being valued by the etsy search.

when I type in my shop name it brings up a did you mean page but it also says I have only 11 items in handmade!! what the ??? I have 71 handmade items in my shop. how does that work??

I'm confused about all this... my views, over the past several days, have reduced but I don't see anything odd that pops up in the search field. I'd sure like to understand all this ? ? I sell Vintage.

Hmmm.... I think the navigation and communication need work, but not so much that we need pop-ups. The search engine should be intuitive, as well as all of the site navigation.

oddly enough my views have been up slightly and the turning point seems to be i ran a week of search ads in mid may. but then again i also joined this team and posted my about page in a couple of relevant threads so who knows! also when i say up I mean they've risen from 10-20 to 20-30 per day. Still not brilliant!

I have started tagging a handful of my items with my shop name. It helped when people would forget to change the pull down menu. It will be even more helpful now.

did anyone notice when you fav <3 an item it navigates you to a facebook? I swear that's a new feature. It just popped up that I could send ...
And when did the *zoom click go into a grey edged framing? It usually just enlarged the product and never a frame.
