photo editing, need help

I would really appreciate some suggestions as to what photo editing is recommended.
For years I used and loved my Kodak Easy Share, but Kodak no longer supports the software, so now I have to start all over.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so very much.

Happy Easter.

E.

Re: photo editing, need help

I use www.picmonkey.com because it's easy and free and I only need to press a few buttons. I was using Photoshop, but the computer it was on is toast. I tried picmonkey and now I'm hooked.

If you've still got the software and it works, there's nothing wrong with using it.

I use Corel for my basic editing (its the 1995 edition) and will use the Photoshop for the more difficult pieces.

Re: photo editing, need help

http://pixlr.com/ has three options; Advanced is like Photoshop, Express is very simple, and the other one is like instagram they're all online and free.

I wrote a little tutorial on how to brighten dull grey backgrounds using pixlr advanced its here:

I use also Gimp 2.6. It's free. The newest version has features that I don't like.

Re: photo editing, need help

Start with the set-up for taking the photos. Nothing beats getting it as close to the lighting etc as possible. Less editing needed the better.

Re: photo editing, need help

I use a small light box with daylight lamps, adjust the white balance and exposure on my camera and edit the photos in Photoshop.

A very belated thank you to everyone who took the time to answer.

I very much appreciate the help.

Lizzie, I decided to use Windows Live, still getting used to it, but do like it.

Thanks again everyone.
