•<Lost In The OCean>>•

Hey guys,
I have been working on photos, tags, descriptions for months now (researching blogs, handbooks, competitors) and have officially opened the shop in the last few weeks.
I'm getting very little organic views, like 2 a day so I am in need of some constructive criticism.
I think I'm lost in the ocean of items and jewelry is so competitive which doesn't help, I just need to know what I need to tweek, I don't know if my tags are cutting it but not sure what to have instead. Any assistance would be soo greatly appreciated!
Yours floundering
Katie

Wondering the same thing. I use to get 100-150 views in my shop daily and now its a trickle of 4-15 views. Getting kind of worried. I am getting the sales but not the views. if I get 20 views I get a sale usually.

Hi Katie and Dawnel -- I think both of you have a lovely shop!

For Katie -- I think it just takes time to get noticed. I had my 1st sale in about 3-4 months.

Cheer up!

Hi Katie
I have jewelry also, and it is hard to get found. Especially lately with Etsy's changes to search.

One thing I noticed, I like how the photos look when you click on one of the items, but the ones in the shop as a whole are a little blurry and don't really look as good as they could. Perhaps also use some of the 5 photos for images of the bracelets from different angles, and maybe close ups of them being worn so they show up well.

Your work is beautiful, and I love the references to auras of the various crystals.

Do you have a marketing plan?
How do you go about bringing in your target customers?
Have you defined who they are?
And found ways to communicate with them (without spamming them)?
Etsy is just a selling platform and does not bring in your customers for you.
YOU have got to make it happen.

Hi Beag,
Thanks for the response. I have a target market and have 10k followers on social media but am struggling to convert those into sales. I have written to some blogs and I have jut started to directly approach some customers. I'm a novice at this though and don't really know if I'm doing it right. Could you suggest any other avenues and what you think my target market is because maybe I'm selling to the wrong crowd?
Thanks so much everyone
Katie

Hi Katie, there are a couple of secrets, bu not really secrets I just like saying the word. One is to go to your Listings Manager, find the Settings icon on a listing you wish to share, and then choose Share on Facebook. Now I recommend because jewelry is such a niche market, that you join Etsy groups specific to jewelry, fashion, design, accessories, etc. and share those listings! It's free marketing.

The other thing is to create a coupon code for your shop (a permanent one with no expiry date) and then promote that across your facebook page, Twitter feed, Instagram, business cards, and include the coupon for next purchase with everything you do sell.

Hope it helps, all the best Katie!

Views fluctuate and it depends on too many factors. But if you've been working on your tags, photos, and descriptions then you won't have that much problems getting views over time.

Socializing on Etsy and outside Etsy is a good way to promote your store. Having a blog to write articles about your field, behind-the-scenes ... etc is another way to market it.

I hope I helped and good luck :)

Your work is beautiful and original but he pictures does not do them justice as I feel you can really make a better impact with better pictures as the front pictures are blury as Mary has mentioned before and I want to say this again as it was my first impression when I looked at your shop.I will give you some advise but ofcourse there are manuals as to how to make better pictures around.
Since the bangles are metalic I would rather put a darker background and maybe use a photoshop like Picasa to sharpen images and make a more contrast betwwen your beautiful objects and background.
I hope this helps!!

I really like your bracelets but as mentioned before the photos don't really show them as beautiful. I will suggest to take some distance so we can see the whole bracelet, I don't mind the white background as long as it is natural, a soft grey will work great too. I like the ones with the wood background with a bit of distance. Remember not to take them with direct sunlight! All the best, eventually things will come around...I've struggle with pictures too!!
