how would you package this?

i've been shipping my hoop earrings out hanging from card with bubble wrap protection and a tshirt bow... i'm not happy with it and was hoping someone might have a better suggestion. http://www.etsy.com/listing/76140580/mustard-yellow-upcycled-tshirt-hoop

Re: how would you package this?

Have you thought about boxing them? I know is an extra expense, but I understand there are some very inexpensive boxes out there and you can add the expense to the earrings. I box my jewelry and tie a bow. I have received comments about that. People like it. Just an idea.

Re: how would you package this?

Thank you MCs for your suggestion, I honestly haven't really priced boxes in bulk I'll go do that now. I know I've seen neat folding kraft (pillow boxes?) boxes. But then the earrings on the card wouldn't fit inside...

Re: how would you package this?

SiameseTwists- thank you. i had the thought of making small tshirt bags and slipping the earrings inside (same concept as the silken bags) i've been bubble wrapping them and sihpping in polymailers- i'm thinking it might be smarter to ship in a padded envelope too maybe?

Fred, I scoured the baking packaging when I was at Michaels the other day! ;)

Re: how would you package this?

I use Uline.com for packaging.

They are the most customer friendly company and they do give out samples
(in my area anyway)

I think they have an on-line catalog.
Check in the "mailers" section. Lots of great mailers from lightweight to hardy stuff in different shapes.

Good luck!

Maybe organza favour bags, or pillow boxes? Look at the weddding section in craft stores/WalMart. :)

Re: how would you package this?

I was about to suggest making petite envelopes! but I see that you've found some cute map ones.
I like making my own little envelopes or bags to put my stuff in, then tying a bow with twine or ribbon, attaching my handmade tags and placing it into a bubble wrapper, or a box if it's a larger item

it looks cute and keeps your items safe.
Here's an example of one of my larger envelopes.

I do something similar with my bracelets- using recycled boxes! you can see them in the last picture of this listing : http://www.etsy.com/listing/80468662/beer-bottle-beverage-id-badge-name-tag
maybe i should tweek that a bit to work for my earrings as well... ? idk.

Re: how would you package this?

yes, cute! I hadn't noticed your recycled boxes, but those are adorable and would be great packaging for your earrings.
