how to find top sellers

reading through a few inspiring posts from people they often say they look at the top sellers in their category to see how to improve their shop.

How do you find out who these top sellers are?

I had heard that one of the (non Etsy) Etsy data websites was possibly riddled with virus and it was in my head that craftcount may be it....please take caution if you open this. I just took a look and within seconds, my virus protection software kicked in and stopped a web threat. Something on that website had stopped my firewall leaving me to the cooties.

This is not a confirmation or virus and with all online sites, please take extra caution if you use such a site.

My favorite thing to do is log out, go to one of my expired or inactive listings, and Etsy shows a page that says "This item is not available anymore but you might be interested in..." and those products they show tell me exactly who my top competitors are.
