has anyone tried Google Adwords?

I recently set up an ad with them and I have got quite a bit of traffic but no sales yet. Has anyone used this and got good results?

It's a little pricey at about $1 per click, but much less than facebook charges

How ever i do like that they try (usually succeed) at staying within your daily budget. I'm thinking of running a big one on Saturday and seeing if i can get more traffic on a good shopping day. the ones i've run so far are on weekdays.

I signed up for Google ad words and I am very happy with it. My sales have been steadily going up. I use other forms of marketing also. I guess there is no one answer for everyone. It just works for me. :)

Hopscotch just took a look at your shop- it is fab and you are doing really well! Congratulations on your increasing sales! Does google adwords bring in a large proportion of your views/sales?

Would you mind telling us roughly what you are spending to see the reults you are doing (obviously it is paying off!)

I am so reluctant to spend money on advertising.... I am scared of spend spend spending and seeing nothing in return. But if Mars and McDonalds etc still advertise then clearly it is what we need to be doing! I guess I am just worried about etsy COSTING me money rather than making me money :-)

exactly, you can have a great product but without marketing how will people know about it? So my question to myself is how much can I budget for marketing? I decided on $5 for the etsy searchword and $40 on Google adword for this week. No sales yet, true, but traffic to my site more than doubled the first day (i started monday) and tripled as of today. I've gotten 100 views today. So if I sell 3 average priced items it will pay for the advertising. Is this logical thinking? We need to be aggressive to get ahead right?

Yeah we definitely need to be aggressive! That's the hard part! I would like a few more sales first so I know my product is worth marketing (I love my art but that's no good unless others do too right?!) and also to get the money for advertising.... But sales seem to take a long time without advertising!!

well girls i have to tell you this! i was reading a team discussion a few days ago and one of the shops said she placed ads on Craig's List and got traffic. So I figured what the hell, it's free right? Well I placed an ad this morning, added my link and two photos. And i'll be damned if i didn't sell one of those items within 6 hours of the posting. I'm not sure yet if thats where the sale came from, but I'm going to ask the buyer!
