google analyticsquestion

ok, so im sure this has been asked before, and I have heard people talking about it, but I just can not figure it out.

How do you see what times people are visiting your shop?? I have heard google analytics shows this, but I can not find it. I am just curious, because I am trying to figure out if there is a 'better time' to list items.

Thanks for all yalls help in advance

Re: google analyticsquestion

Hi,
Okay so go to your google analytics.
1.click view report
2.click "visits"
3. above the graph on the right hand side you will see some little tabs, one looks like a clock. Click that and it will give you a bar graph of hour by hour times people are in your shop.

You need to make sure that you have set your time zone properly to the time you are actually in. I made this mistake the first couple of weeks and relisted an hour behind when I should have :) You live and learn.

I hope this helps!

Re: google analyticsquestion

oops my mistake you need to click on page views and then you will see the clock and it will tell you what time of day you should be listing.

Re: google analyticsquestion

I hope some of this is making sense. I'm really pretty new to it myself. I've only had it up and running for a couple of months. But I know from what G.A. tells me that my peak times are 8 am, 7 pm and the highest is at 9 pm. So that's when I list and try to make my treasuries.

Re: google analyticsquestion

I googled some tutorials on how to switch the time zone, because in some cases people move to different areas and states. So it said that it can be changed in profile settings.

Re: google analyticsquestion

Click on "Report" then "Vistors" and "Vistor Trending." Then click on "Visits." In the upper right hand corner you will see where it says "graph by" and some icons. Click on the one on the far left that looks like a clock.

Re: google analyticsquestion

Here's the GA help link that answers the time zone question:

http://www.google.com/support/analytics/bin/answer.py?answer=55512

1- Time zone is set by default on Pacific time.

2- If your account is not linked to an Adwords campaign, you can change your time zone, on your analytics settings tab, click edit on the profile that is assigned to your store, and when you see the table that shows the time (by default is Pacific time), click edit (on the gray bar, I barely could see it) -- then choose your country, and then the time zone.

3- if you DO have an Adwords campaign assigned to this profile, then you got to change your time zone in your Adwords settings page, not here.
